+1 yI live my life by my religion because it makes me happy. I don’t do certain things because my religion tells me not to, and I do certain things because my religion tells me I have to. I’m happy that way and believe it or not but it’s actually very liberating for me, once I loosened my grip on trying to please people, and instead focused more on pleasing God. I can’t say I’ve fully let go of trying to please people, but I’m getting there.
In conclusion following religion makes me happy, I strongly believe that my faith is true and I’m okay with others living life by following whatever they believe in whether it be my religion, another religion, a non-religion do what you believe is true and what makes you happy. Stay true to yourself❤️11 Reply- +1 y
Thanks for MHO whether you picked it or it was the bot, I appreciate it either way and this was a very good question :)

+1 yI don’t have a problem with people who believe in religion or God, but the ones who push their beliefs onto me irk me a lot. I legit came across someone on youtube today who began preaching about God under my comment when the video was unrelated to it. Like wtf. Some people blame their shortcomings on God and that's a shit thing to do. I used to believe in God but my mom became a religious fanatic and it scared and annoyed me. I don't have a problem with it though. People can do whatever they want, I just wanna stay outta it.

+1 yWhat difference does it make? Some folks really believe that free will is overrated. They will submit their wills to ideologies way worse or stranger than religion.

And im more of a logical thinker than emotional. But my relationship with God is also more respect and logic based than emotional
3.8K opinions shared on Religion & Spirituality topic. You're confused and illogical. Religion cannot dictate. No book springs arms and makes people do anything. Nor do ideas have some sort of magic control. Also, logic has nothing do do with either matter.
People control people. They do so under different guises.20 Reply
+1 yTo some people, that IS their life. In their eyes and minds, they're just a vessel of their religion and live their lives accordingly. It's what they feel their purpose is, and what makes them happy.
The reasons they believe what they do are their own.
None of my business.10 ReplyThey're too invested in it. It's like they make their religion their identity. It could be the way they were raised or they're influenced by members who follow the same religion. An example that comes to mind is the Jehovah's Witnesses.

+1 yWell for me because I believe in the Bible with all my heart and mind, plus there's a great benefit doing things God's way.
I wouldn't change it for nothing. Literally.
Christianity and the Bible is the best thing that ever happened to me by far.10 Reply Why do people let laws and the constitution dictate their life? If I want to kill, rape, and steal, why do I have to suffer consequences for that? I’m just living my life and enjoying what I want to do. It doesn’t make sense that these laws govern how I act or what I do.

We have laws because we are social creatures. And as social creatures we understand that there need to be rules. Many other social animals also have a sense of fair and right and wrong. All you need is empathy. It doesn't take some magical being.
You don't need religion to have morals. If you can't determine right from wrong then you lack empathy, not religion. - +1 y
@AndrésC64 The animal kingdom is survival of the fittest. That is law. Morals vary vastly depending on society.
- +1 y
@AndrésC64 so murder and cannibalism may be acceptable in some societies. Pedophilia was normal in Rome.
- +1 y
@AndrésC64 religion provides a better moral foundation than none.
- +1 y
@AndrésC64 10 commandments are pretty clear. I don’t know which Bible you’ve been reading.
- +1 y
The one which you obviously didn't read or conveniently ignored the inconvenient parts. The god of the Bible as either condoned, committed or commanded all of the following: rape, slavery, torture, child abuse, animal and human sacrifice, murder and genocide, stealing, lying. 🤦🏼♂️
- +1 y
@AndrésC64 Give me scripture. Not one innocent person did God do any of those things to. That’s like blaming WW2 Nazi Germany on God. People kill people.

@AndrésC64 You do realize that slavery in the bible is payed work? People would willingly become slaves for coin and food? Also, your rape versus are revelations and parables. God never condones rape, not in one verse. All the versus you mentioned are historical versus. Every person who dies in the bible are not by Gods hands unless they disobeyed or committed sin. The 10 commandments state clearly his morals. You also lean heavily on Old Testament. It’s a poor argument. Why do you pretend that the New Testament doesn’t exist?
- +1 y
@AndrésC64 It’s clear that Old Testament God was heavily involved in the world. He obviously guided his people and set examples. After Moses, he stopped being as involved and led by prophets and miracles. You don’t take parables and turn them into literal translations. You are being dishonest and clearly have a hatred with God. I guess you feel burned or he didn’t answer your prayer? Regardless of what you think, morality was founded by religion and is the foundation of the greatest laws and justices today.
2.6K opinions shared on Religion & Spirituality topic. If it were logical, it wouldn’t be religion. By definition, religion is a belief in unprovable (or in some cases, disproven) claims.

+1 yGoal one is to go to Heaven since it is forever. Here on earth you live 85 years if you are lucky. Stupid would be putting everything into just 85 years here then go to Hell forever. People like you are why there are full prisons and crimes. People like that want to get it all now on earth , so they don't care what they do or to who they do it.
00 Reply 861 opinions shared on Religion & Spirituality topic. Everyone has a “religion” if you think about it. And without a God there would be no Atheist. Talk about illogical, Atheists are the rockstars of Religious extremist. Again, you too have a religion that you follow. Think it through…..
00 ReplyI think it's generally because they have a follower mentality, and hence a need to find or invent a model to follow. I don't know though, it's hard to relate to that.
00 ReplyThat’s the point of religion. It’s supposed to be a way of life.

+1 yUhh it would seem very illogical to not revolve your life around it. Lets see... if i dont do xyz ill go to hell... hmm ok let me just forget about that now. Really? That seems logical?
04 Reply- +1 y
@AndrésC64 im saying if you believe. The only logically consistent positions are atheist and doesn't let religion influence their life or religious and has their life revolve around religion. It would be super weird and illogical to both believe and not have your life be highly influenced by religion.
- +1 y
@AndrésC64 yes exactly.
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yBut that's what religion is for... how can you call other people illogical and not understand that? If people were good, they wouldn't need religion to make them good.
