+1 yLook first thing you’ve got to do to be on the righteous path to buy the first edition of my holy books, just $10.99. It seems then that you are on the path, but you need also to buy the the 2nd edition, just $15.99. You need to ward off the evil spirits, just buy my magic charm, just $10.99. You need to cut out every social connection. They’re just demons trying get you off the righteous path. Just sell your home, your wife, and all kids and spend your retirement funds to come down to my prayer island camp. Throw away your phone, it just emits evilness. We’re not a cult, we are a legally recognized religion and everyone including your family just persecutes us.
Also, we have cookies and milk.11 Reply- +1 y
Ooooo I LOVE milk and cookies. I don’t have a wife or kids to sell you though, will my parents and brother work? I also have a dog!

+1 yMaybe something like Fight Club but for men and women both. One of my more controversial thoughts on here thoughts is that fighting physically is healthy provided we do it with good sportsmanship. I also think we need to get physically injured on a fairly regular basis to avoid growing too soft.

I tie it back to our evolution if people think I'm pulling this out of a vacuum. Take a fairly recent injury I sustained with a dislocated shoulder and hematoma (looked much worse the next day, but my wife only snapped it when I got home):
![If you could start a religion, what would it be?]()
First of all, this is only a minor injury. Some people are like, "Oh ma gawd! Your shoulder is popped out!" I didn't even go to the doctor for it. This is kindergarten stuff. I wish I had better injuries to show people but I didn't get the photos.
We should be injured like this all the time as I see it! I'm not abnormal, the people who say I am are! How would it be like living in a jungle? Everyone is supposed to get at least this bruised up on a regular basis. This is the most minor of my injuries but I think people have disconnected themselves when they think this is bad.
So I want to teach a class with all my broken bones, and missing extremities, on what it's like to feel pain, and fight, on a routine basis. - +1 y
Same with people who complain about not having food for just a few hours in a row. I want to make a cult where we go for 2 weeks without eating. Things of this sort. Basically I want to increase people's tolerance for suffering.

Honestly what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger. We don’t realize how privileged we are until it’s taken away. Humans are meant to adapt, I’m all for it. Two week famine it is:p

That's an adventure! And we have each other as I see it to pull through it. Not for weight loss, not to look good, just to see if we can endure it. I hope I don't come across too much like someone with a macho ego. Well, I got it a bit from what I've accomplished but my goal isn't to be macho, and I have many things I like that aren't. I just sometimes feel like we take too many things for granted. I know everyone is capable of being a lot harder than they act. And we're all capable of being soft; I can be so soft when I get too comfortable for too long. But the whole point of life as I see it is adventure, which comes with its share of suffering if it's to be a real adventure, and so I'd want people to get comfortable with the suffering so that they might maximally enjoy the thrill.

So fight club cult for me! Let's beat each other up all the time, not with the intent of hurting each other. I'll throw the people out who get off too much from hurting each other. But with the goal of being able to endure some pain and suffering. To grow stronger, so to speak.

To be honest I don’t exactly have a lot of respect for people who chose to stay comfortable. For example, I had an ex boyfriend who quite literally lived in his moms basement and dropped out of college, never made any new friends, started working for his parents etc. He would constantly shit talk what I’m studying in school (traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture). That relationship didn’t last long. I try to do something everyday that makes me uncomfortable. Weather that be go for a run, or go up to a stranger and start a conversation. I’ve had a needle stuck in my eye before! I’m driven by adventure and I will always try new things no matter what I think the outcome will be. It’ll guarantee turn into some form of lesson. How is one supposed to develop character from sitting on their ass all day feeling sorry for themself? We’ve all been there tho, I have anyway hahah. (Apologies for the whole ass rant)

I think we're very aligned in this respect. Maybe I can join your cult, or you can join mine. :-D

+1 yI would form it as the Garden of Eden was during the dispensation of innocence before sin began and all hell broke loose.
As a nudist I was taught that nudity and sex is normal and natural and never to be ashamed of. Well, at least that's the way it was when we were created, but then sin changed all that.
I would like to start a religion based after the one at the beginning when there was no shame, only innocence and no one was ashamed of nudity or sex thus we would be truly free again.
Well, I can dream, can't I?
