Fasting, like the ritualistically timed prayer is a Work born out of a Works Righteousness religious thinking. And sadly, Muslims never be assured…never fully know if their “Good” is enough to outweigh “Not Good”. Terrorist Bomber in jihad is about the only assured way into heaven.

I’ve done what we Christians call spiritual (or biblical) fasting. it doesn’t have a specific length or time though. Just whenever we feel like we need it or when we feel called upon by god to do it.

Nope, but I did last year. Last year my blood sugar got so low that I fainted and had to go to the doctor. I had to stop in the middle of Ramadan because my condition kept getting worse and worse. I don't think I will ever fast again, but I do appreciate all God has given me.

May Allaah the almighty heal you and makes everything easy for you. Allaah the almighty never wants hardships for us and he gives permission to anyone who has any disease that prevents them from fasting to not fast, in islam life is priority than anything else.
Please take care of yourself and your health and don’t push yourself on doing something that could be hard for your body or cause you any problems.

I'm not Muslim. Closest thing I did to that was during Lent. No meat on Fridays and also observing the love of Jesus Christ for His flock. That said I have considered Orthodox Christianity for a while and it it they do fast a lot. But I already fast many times weekly.

Yes no food or sex from sunset to sunrise. And it’s a celebration. Some fast in days that are not Ramadan for different reasons including penance

But because he is merciful he keeps giving you chances to wake up and correct yourself because Allaah the almighty wants good for us and want us to be the winners who go to paradise.
