My guess, as a man myself, though my mother took that decision out of my hands when she opted for the medical staff that delivered me take scissors to my little Wi Wi & snip, & not even take the initiative to keep my foreskin in case I may have wanted it. Wait, what was the question again? Sorry, I'm still pissed that a piece of me was ripped away & stolen from me mere moments after I was thrusted into this cruel world. Oh yeah, circumcision, men, afraid, right. Although I'm disqualified from this exact scenario, I can still confirm that me personally strongly prefer that sharp objects, especially when out of my control maintain social distancing at all times. Accident's happen, & if one were too occur while on the operating table leading too your little guy's paralysis & ultimate permanent dysfunction has the potential too, & more than likely will lead too a very deep depression which that man may never escape from. A side from that I personally know someone who when we were 14 decided to have that procedure done as he was afraid that girl's would find his junk's natural, but odd appearance funny. So he had it done, & I remember not only how much pain he was in for like a week after, but the surgeon's instructions included how he was not too get an erection for two whole weeks or there would be some consequences. We are talking about a 14 year old boy here, let's just say he suffered some consequences. So that is my very long winded answer to your question, I hope it provided some helpful insight. P. S. removing that piece of skin is actually removing the most sensitive nerves from the organ, & therefore it eliminates the sensation nature intended for really no good reason since those religious practices are as a result of hygienic inadequacies, but in the modern age hygiene is a much easier thing to maintain, meaning the act of circumcision is more or less a cultural practice more than any real necessity.

+1 yFor the same reason women are. What, you think genital mutilation's acceptability is based on chromosomes? The foreskin has so many nerve endings that once it's removed, the ENTIRE PENIS has fewer than the external part- just the external part- of the clitoris. And with nothing shielding it from constant contact with clothing, the glans not only gets desensitized, but keratinized, knocking it down still further. And let's not forget that removing the frenulum pretty much eliminates the possibility of multiple orgasms.
Maimonides himself admitted that the entire point was to reduce the pleasure that sex and masturbation provide.
All those things COULD be overlooked, if it were a matter of adults making decisions for themselves- but it's usually not. See, an 8-day-old boy isn't a Jew. He isn't a Muslim. He isn't a part of ANY religion, organized or otherwise. He is a baby. Under any other circumstance, we'd call that sexual abuse.20 Reply
+1 yMy son is circumcized, it was a discussion I had with his father & he was incredibly adamant about our child being circumcised. I personally didn't care one way or the other, so it was dad's decision in the end.
Our baby doesn't even remember the event & he hasn't had any complications with his peenie. It also helped that the Doc who did it has done a plethora of circumcisions in his +20yrs in the practice.
If you don't want your son circumcised, don't do it. Just like if you're not a fan of abortion, don't get one.21 Reply- +1 y
So than huh support FGM too then?
+1 yI’m not in favor of male genital mutilation unless it’s for medical reasons.
I don’t see any reason as to why I would clip off my son’s (if I have one in the future) foreskin.
Besides, the procedure become riskier as the child grows older. It is better to perform the surgery when the kid is <1 year old. So it won’t be the child’s choice, would it? Anesthesia complications, risk of contracting infections are minimal if the surgery is performed on a baby instead of a grown man or an older child.211 Reply- +1 y
@In_Trance There are many.
- Penile cancer
- Balanitis. This is when the foreskin and the head of the penis become inflamed and infected.
- Paraphimosis is where the foreskin can't be returned to its original position after being pulled back, causing the head of the penis to become swollen and painful. (Immediate treatment is required for this. Can cause restricted blood flow to the penis)
- +1 y
Circumcision is a possible treatment for these.

I love how you hold sexual genitalia in the same regard as the gall bladder or wisdom teeth. “Well, something COULD go wrong, so let’s just remove it. Why not.”
I hope your clit gets infected. Hopefully you take your own advice and cut it off. - +1 y
@Agagagagaga Excuse me? Do you know how to read? You are aware that sometimes male circumcision is required for medical reasons right? I’m NOT in favor of male circumcision unless it is absolutely necessary
- +1 y
And by “absolutely necessary” I mean, for medical reasons such as Balanitis. Look up on it. I would NEVER clip off my son’s foreskin (if I have any in the future).
The last paragraph of my initial reply was me referring to the asker’s original question. “Why are men afraid of being circumcised?” I clearly stated that it would not be the kid’s choice if the surgery was done when it was a baby. Some people do it for religious reasons. I’m not religious, hence I do not want to poke my nose into their business even though I’m AGAINST it. Grown men are more prone to anesthetic complications, infections after the surgery and so on..
And thank you very much for being concerned about my vagina. It is in a perfectly good condition if you must know. 😊 - +1 y
There is never any medical reason to hack off someone’s genitalia.
If surgery were the answer for all of human diseases we wouldn’t have pharmaceutical companies.
There is no justification you can conjure up that would ever make mangling someone’s genitalia the best course of action. - +1 y

An open wound in a dirty diaper wouldn't be the worst case scenario for infection?
No guy ever needs to be encouraged to wash himself.

Male Circumcision is done for the same 'reason' as Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), the same 'obligatory religious protocol'
It is done for no valid medical reason, unless in later life if there is a bound foreskin, It is rarely done in the UK, but in the US is a usually done because there is a financial motive, which they usually disguise behind the ‘hygiene excuse’,
I come from a family with Jewish grandparents Immigrants to the UK from Germany) on one side but they did not push being circumcised on their grandsons, saying it could be done later if the grandsons wished to take up Judaism10 Reply
+1 yWe are not afraid, it’s just most men live in the 21st century and not the 6th century BC.
We can actually clean ourselves, not really something that’s hard to do for a guy with a basic level of intelligence.
You go on keep promoting genital mutilation.
Amazing how religion is used as an excuse to mutilate boys and girls genitals…
really sad and pathetic.10 Reply606 opinions shared on Religion & Spirituality topic. Why would anyone be afraid of having just come skin cut off? Think it's more like people are more strongly emotional about some skin for some odd sense of pride that they don't want it to be gone. But afraid? nah.
As for myself I couldn't care either it's just some skin. And one has to remove it anyway if they come under phimosis.00 Replyuh, maybe because part of their body is literally being cut off? i don't think you'd be too excited if one of your body parts had to be chopped off. sure, it's under anesthesia, but that still doesn't mean that it's not scary.
20 ReplyThey where born with it. It's painful and unecessary. a lot of things about religion don't make sense tho.

+1 yI am still uncut at age 43; I am interested in the topic and would like to get the low and loose cut. What is holding me back is the recovery time. For me, my circumcision would have been for aesthetic reasons: I am afraid that they will give me something I don't want.
The fear for me is the recovery pain, the fear of something going wrong during the operation.00 ReplyI don't know who the fuck wouldn't be afraid of any part of their bodies being chopped off? Especially part of their genitals like fuck that ain't nobody should be chopping off any part of their body.

no worries :)
+1 yBecause they are afraid they would cut off too much and then they would forever be known afterwards as "stumpy".
11 ReplyI don't think many men are afraid of it. The procedure is usually done at such a young age that most of us don't remember. My objection is that a healthy baby shouldn't be mutilated for any reason including religious tradition.

+1 yWell it is barbaric we are born with that and only person who should have a say is the person if the person grow they can decide when older otherwise it's terrible imagine having part of your vagina cut off it the same

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yAfraid? I don't think they are afraid but the whole practise seems a bit pointless and barbaric to me. Men evolved with it covered for a purpose so maybe you should research that instead of trying to impose religious ideals.
30 ReplyMine is circumsized not for religious reason but due to medical reason when I was probably like 1 year old or something. I don't know even remember it. But I guess it makes a lot of things easier. You know what I mean.
00 ReplyBecause it´s painful and seems unnecessary. There are not many reasons to get circumcised as an adult.
10 ReplyAre you serious? Adults assaulting babies and children with knives is disgusting behavior, no matter how many religions make it an obligation.

Over 70% of the world population is UNCUT. Stop mutilating baby dicks21 ReplyVast majority of men do not have a choice as it's done when they are infants. I have been to two circumcision ceremonies and both of them were very heavy. They did it with a shaving blade.

+1 ywell brace yourself there's a lot of strong opinions on this...
but while some view it as religious obligations... others view it as genital mutilation and violating their body.10 ReplyI mean some religions require girls get skin removed or to even get sewn shut. Isn't that, like, for her to decide later?
00 ReplyMy opposition to circumcision is because.
1. The baby didn't consent.
2. How fucked up is it to butcher your own child.
Thank fuck it totally illegal in my country.30 Reply
+1 yNo, thanks. Knowing I'd had part of myself chopped off for religion is one of the most demeaning and invasive things I can think of.
The practice should be dead outside of valid medical reasons.00 ReplyEveryone does not want to be mutilated, normally those who speak well of it are those who were mutilated as children and have no memories of it. Let's put it in the opposite, maybe you will answer yourself. Why don't women want to be infibulated?

21 Reply- +1 y
It's much more a U. S. thing, and hardly a thing, at all--unless medically advised--in western and a whole lot of central and eastern Europe, apart from the Muslim and Jewish communities, I guess. I don't know if it's done in other religious cultures there, but that would still make it not quite a western culture thing.
