Why are European and Canadian men NOT circumcised?

Outside of a Muslim’s/Jews and certain parts of the British upper class it never caught in like it did in the USA/Canada/Australia.

Canada had A rate close to the US rate till about 40 years ago when it started creeping down (as it has in some but not all US regions). When insurance stopped covering it that process sped up.

That said the quoted rates are often in the low side since they only track those done in hospitals and a lot (being paid out of pocket) are done in private clinics.

In BC and Quebec most young men are uncut. For white Ontarians, it’s much closer to 50/50 among the young.

Because by about 1950, medical associations in the developed world started advocating against circumcision on the grounds that the risks of the procedure outweigh its purported benefits (most of which have been dismissed as false or unscientific).

The US hasn't yet caught up with real science, as usual, opting for the perpetuation of religious fanaticism and hardcore conservatism instead.

Because circumcision is an unnecessary medical procedure for the vast majority of men. What you should be asking is why men in some other parts of the world are generally circumcised.

Because they don’t follow the role of Jewish culture We also don’t circumcise people who are supposed to be adopted right at birth trust me I’m not circumcised and I’m not European or Jewish or Canadian

I think it is down to the culture. To me, circumcision appears to be more of a cultural / religious thing than a medical.

I thought Circumcision was historically a Jewish tradition, not sure how it became the norm in the US.
