Has praying ever helped you through hard times in your life?

One of the worst work days of my life turned into one of the best work days of my life after talking to God (aka praying). The situation didn’t change, but my perspective changed. Similar things have happened many times to me. If our goal is to manipulate God or to try to get him to do what we want Him to do, then we’re likely going to be disappointed. The Bible addresses all of these things.

Yes praying give me patience and courage to pass that hard times. And i never stop praying. I feel very relived after pray.

Yes, as not a very religious person, it still has helped in certain times, like when my mom was very ill. It provides comfort and peace in rough times. Again, I am not ultra religious.

The bible says to hide your prayers so I will say it’s worked but that is all I will say about it.

It also strongly depends on what you were praying for and how you were for it.. as a christian sometimes my prayer does not get answered and then my life goes the complete opposite of what i asked for.. but in the end i understand that i needed to go through that tribulation.. are christian or religious in any way?

Yes I'm religious, not Christian of any sort anymore.

I was praying for safety, that my parents would believe me. Yeah, didn't help.

I went with something that actually makes sense to me. No reason to continue with a god that is willing to watch with indifference for years whilst a child is begging for help to keep em safe another night. Fuck that.

I went through something similar praying for God to take me out of my toxic household he never did so i blocked him out.. 2 years later i return still in the same place turns out i was supposed to be praying for strenght yo get through the tribulations that were in place for me.. the people yhat made my house toxic actually ended up helping me tl the point i am a little glad i stayed and suffered because i am just now starting to reach the light at the end of this tunnel (or so i think i am God may still have other plans) but right now it did me well

If god has a divine plan then prayers won’t change them, kind of arrogant to assume that god will change his plans because you pray and ask. Better just sit back and accept what’s coming.
