Trending & News Well, if you believe the Christians, god already rules the entire universe and it is not perfect, peaceful, or trouble free. So, either God does not have the power to do anything, does not have the interest, doesn't know what to do about it, or doesn't exist.
Obviously I'm convinced of the latter but let's entertain some of the others. Not having the power is pretty straightforward. But then what is the point of a god that is powerless? Not having the interest could be a thing where, if an eternal afterlife was really a thing, our lives on earth are the disposable cocoons. The pains and pleasures, the loves and hates, we feel in life are mere scratches on the cocoon. What is an 80 year life of the worst imaginable conditions next to 80 trillion years of possible bliss, and even that's just getting started? In my view this is the best case scenario for the possibility of a god. It absolves him from all responsibility for life and instead only leaves judgement based on the choices we made given the options we had - not if we were a good or bad person and certianly not if we memorized his correct name. But of course there problem with this is all the religions that claim to have a list of God's expectations turn out to just have the religious leaders expectations. They will be judged for making that choice to lie to others but can the people they've convinced to interfere with the lives of others can only be judged for being naive? Would the punishment for their choices be doled out to them or would some portion of it be given back to the person who are the choice to present them with bad choices in the first place? And as for the people whose lives they ruined, do they get leniency because they never had the power to make bad choices?
It's all complicated but a being with infinite time on their hands should be able to sort it out. Or maybe not? Which is the third thing. With all these conflicting egos wanting to devour the same limited self worth how does a god fix it? Just eliminate half like thanos? Only thing i can think of is let their presence be known. A lot of problems would go away if people just knew for certian there was a purpose instead of only being told by other people. Of course, if that purpose depends on our ignorance we have to consider the possibility that the purpose is not for our benefit. God is trying to produce a garden for himself but has no idea what to do about all the leaves constantly fighting each other. And frankly doesn't care as long as he gets what he needs from the garden. To that end he also doesn't care if we want to be "harvested." We are a resource not a pet.
This is gobbledegook and solely from a perspective of one who knows nothing about the Bible. I would love the opportunity to demonstrate to you, through. common sense (my 7th graders get it), science, and reason how God Is.
—The majority of your either powerless or not good God is answered in my post. I would be thrilled to explain to you how God Is Good, omnipotent, omniscient, and a righteously Judging, Creator God.
Please peruse my post 👍
Nah, I was raised in the church. Heard it all, and none of it qualifies as "demonstration." After hearing the same clingy arguments over and over from religious people I kind of just stopped listening to it and tried to figure out why they were making it. That explanation is actually extremely simple. So simple as to be a bit of a let down because I was expecting some complex high minded puzzle that would then let me continue to cling to the belief that my elders had things figured out, which is basically the same belief as believing in a god. And that explanation is: because they prefer to believe it. Boring, but it's not even unreasonable, as who wouldn't prefer to believe they will never die and someone with the power is looking out for them in this random and indeterminate universe? If you can't do anything about it anyway, what good does knowing about it do?
So I get it. The problem is those small microcosmic things that we can do something about. If a third the population is resolved to only come upmwith excuses to sabotage any such efforts because they insist everyone make believe with them that an eternal entity will take care of it for us, they become a problem. And they have done exactly that with things like climate change. Nothing less than an existential threat but some religious want to block others from doing anything about it because existential threats are incompatible with their belief that an all powerful being controls everything. Religious people often ask atheists "what if you're wrong?" Well, this is that question in the opposite direction. What if you people destroy the earth for your belief in a god but there isn't one?
God will rule the world Holy and Good after His Second Coming. He is coming soon, by the way. The creation as whole will be redeemed and returned to garden of Eden status.
-Firstly, our current age dated from In the Beginning, God through Perfect Creation. And then Adam and Eve, in their God given Free Will, sinned.
—Adam/Eve sinned in disobedience and corrupted the Creation. We reside in this world until Jesus’s Second Coming where He will restore the Creation to,”It is Good” status again.
—Until then, man/woman is allowed to operate within their fallen nature and free will. This is called the permissive will of God and Putin is a prime example as was Hitler, Stalin, Biden, and Xi etc..
—That being said, God still has Standards that Created are expected to follow. This is known as His Preceptive Will (10Commandments).
—To further solidify Man’s responsibility to follow God in obedience man/woman were intelligently designed with innate knowing of Morality. EVERYONE knows the difference between right and wrong, therefore, an intelligently designed freedom to chose coincides with right/wrong allowing for a righteous judgment.
—At that point, the God who created and designed also has the right to Judge. One is in a courtroom at that moment. Judgment occurs on God’s Time rather than man’s time. If we did not have a merciful and good God, our death would be instantaneously….
—But we, including Putin, receive mercy (NOT getting what one deserves) until God decides it is Time.
—Now, to explain why there are Putins, Hitlers, etc one needs to go to pharaoh and plague in Bible. God offered option for repentance BUT IF ONE continues in his/her sin, as Pharaoh chose too, God will give them over to their Sins.
—God did this numerous time with Jews as if they obeyed Israel was blessed and disobeyed were cursed. This is their contractual arrangement.
—God rose up Persians Babylonians Egypt etc when Jews were disobedience and punished the Jews. When Israel was obedient then those Nations that were against Christ Jesus were judged and destroyed.
—Today, some think that’s what China is being groomed to do to USA. God’s Time for judgment and wrath upon USA is close approaching.
Again, our fallen world and fallen nature will be restored perfect for those who know Christ Jesus as Savior and Lord. Make certain that you know Christ Jesus in this capacity ‼️
This is such an interesting comment. You must have studied religion and history
Thank you, that’s very gracious of you. No I have not officially, however, I attend a “Bible believing church”. It also has a Seminary SO I am blessed by LOTS…like 3000 that know more than I.
-Most of that post if from Genesis 1-4. The Free Will part is not me either. Jonathan Edwards the most prodigious American philosopher. And, related to free will and determinism he said, “choosing NOT the thing before you…in that determination-at the crux of it is a Choice. I have the ability to choose the good (not murder), however, if I chose NOT the Good, by default, I have chosen the not good (murder). Basis of Sin and disobedience and obedience. His basis for this is found in Bible. Paul said, although I know the Good that I should do, I do it not. And the Not Good, that I swore that I would never do, I do (you can search that). And, I get momentary fun.. joy from not doing the Right and in doing the Wrong. This is when conscious, Intelligently Designed Morality, right vs wrong, and Wrath/Judgment of God kicks in.
even if god's the ruler we still have free will and can do bad
so nono perfection

Well this really depends on the God and it's limitations if it has none and it's just been letting us be or worse then we are totally fucked if the God does have limitations then we are not as fucked best case scenario here is the god is an idiot who is willing to hear us out but I personally doubt all that and think God's are fake
In the book of Revelation 21:3,4 we are assured of this very thing. Since we know everything God promises has come true, we know this is sure to happen.
GOD is in control of the earth
satan is the ruler
he controls society
Depends on the god
