How do you understand this verse about results?

The bible says that what the righteous desire will be granted, so how does that work to you?

The way I understand this verse is, if I desire to go to Harvard, God will give my the intelligence, the credentials, the money and the letters I need to get into the school

If I desire to look like a model, God will give me the healthy recipes and time and health I need to achieve that

When we are sold out for him and seek his glory, whether it be for a job, a class or a family member we set him as the ultimate priority to give him the glory. We have to put down our trust in our own ways and known capabilities and trust in the Lord that through him we will lack nothing, not leaning on our own understanding. If we acknowledge him, he will set us on the path that will have the best long term outcomes. One could have the desire to go to one college or another due to how an employer perceives them or how one college may have a more convincing argument for attendance. God sees your future and sees it in its fullness. He knows what you will desire in the long run rather than just the moment, he knows each individual and professor that will give you the tools to unlock your full potential, what one wants in the moment may come and go, he knows exactly what you need.

If I were to take each thought captive and look at each desire with a grain of salt what would be my outcome and how would it line up with one's purpose?

Which of these desires will live up to desires given by God?

Let's take a look at what lines up with the biblical definition of righteousness?

It seeks that which is good

It becomes the new desires of the heart as the personal relationship with the Lord sprouts its fruit in season

It comes to serve him rather than to serve self

It desires to be a blessing to others

It desires first for his kingdom, his will be done on earth as in heaven

It accepts that by his grace he makes us righteous rather than us doing it on our own, our job is to seek him that he may be found and allow him to be our perfection
When we grow in his perfection, it helps others in ways we could not help them in our own strength.

It seeks not after the accomplishments of others or to get where someone else is in life

He wants what is best for his children and will bring fulfillment, peace and satisfaction to those who choose to complete it

He knows what will be a waste of time and what is the best use of our time

His timing is perfect and complete

I remember reading somewhere that Harvard allowed you to choose which tests to send in, and Harvard forms your Superscore, supposedly one can take the SAT as many times as they wanted, then just submit only the tests that give you the highest Superscore. Those application readers will only see that one score.

Harvard's motto in English is truth. In Latin the motto is Veritas truth, kindness and beauty. A college itself cannot make someone that which is truthful and kind. What is truth when you take away its source. You are a light that shines before men and a child of God that reflects the light of the heavenly father.

God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.

A person can come up with some of the greatest ideas on how to create a sustainable wealth that will create a lasting generosity to the poor, the sick and the hungry, but only the heavenly father knows the path that will lead a person to success in all of his glory.

Hebrews 10:35-36 “So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.”

Romans 12:2 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

if you have deep conviction and faith and believe in yourself, then anything is possible.
Maybe my faith is not strong enough yet as I keep praying for my sinful ways to go away

Everything from coming across a song I needed to hear at the right time, a meme,, a quote, a photo, a number.. I’ve had lil’ miracles throughout my life to know that a higher bring knows I exist and it motivates me to seek the truth and continue on my path knowing that if I continue to live for God, that he will bring me the results I need.

There's no evidence that prayer works, or that religious people fare better than non-believers. Many people pray and work hard but never reach their goal. Gaining admission to Harvard or becoming a model are things many people desire but very few obtain.
