Why do Atheists continue to claim something can come from nothing at all?

An empty set has no members and no solutions. Therefore there is no process, P, whereby Nothing could create something.

The only creative power one can ascribe to nothing is nothing, therefore nothing cannot create anything.

The Big Bang requires a cause, namely a pre-existing reality, because nothing has no creative power.

Anything capable of Creating the entire universe is Almighty.

Anything which is Almighty is Sentient.

Therefore, the True Creator is in fact Almighty God.

I don't know about atheists. In fact, I would not talk to atheists anymore about universal creation. They are not scientists. Nor are they scientific.

As for physicists who claim the universe came from nothing, I don't know of any respected physicists making such a claim.

Think about it this way.

The theory says the universe emerged from a very hot and very dense state. Over time it became less dense and cooler.

Well, just take any box or enclosed system. Understand what science says about density of mass/energy. If you have a state of density that is the same everywhere in that system, that is the same as there being nothing at all.

The only reason why we perceive anything is because of "differences in density of mass/energy". You understand? If I have an enclosed system with the same temperature throughout, that would be equivalent to nothingness. But it really isn't nothing, it is in a state of equilibrium. In physics, it is called "symmetric".

As for what they are saying, it is scientifically sound. When mass/energy is equivalent everywhere that is the same as nothingness.

What no one can explain is if that was the case, WHY WOULD SYMMETRY BREAK?

And if that is the case, wouldn't it take a Being of Infinite Power to perform such a feat?

You misunderstand atheism. Most atheists are agnostic -- they believe the existence of God is both unknown and unknowable. There's no evidence that prayer or any religious practice is beneficial, so we don't bother.

Your argument about the need for a divine creator is circular. The question you ask about the creation off the universe could then be asked about God. Where did God come from? God must have been created by an uber-God, etc. Any reply about God being eternal could equally be true about the universe. I see no reason to waste time and money on religion.
