Does it help you feel less worried about your problems to imagine how tiny we are with our tiny problems?

If there are any intelligent creatures in the universe and they can see us from a far, maybe we too, will live in the future from some other distant planet’s viewpoint millions of years later even after our death.

Do you know the legend of the Tangram? The story goes that ages ago, the emperor of China made a grand tour of the country. One of his stops was to be in a small village, for which this was a once-in-several-lifetimes experience. So the people of nhe village decided to make a present for the emperor, and designed a beautiful ceramic tile. Onexperson harvested the clay, ote shaped and fired it, one painted it, and so on. One guy, whe had nothing else to contribute, was chosen to carry it and present it to the emperor. Unfortunately, he tripped and fell, and the tire broke into seven pieces. He
was horrified, but figuring that him being pinished was better than everyone suffering, he presented the tile anyway. And the emperor was delighted, because his subjects had made for him a puzzle. An emperor would have shortage of pretty things, but a chance to test and prove his intelligence? That's a rarer thing.

That's kind of the way I see the universe: as a puzzle so big and complex that we ourselves are part of it, and a gift from God, that we should never run out of mysteries or ways to challenge ourselves. I've never been able to relate to the idea that the vastness of the universe makes you feel small; it makes me feel honored, that such a gift has been given to us. The light of faded stars is a reminder of that, and of the fact that the universe isn't static, but that it is a changing and evolving thing; a work of art as well as a puzzle.

It actually makes me feel nothing. I have always seen it from a scientific point of view.

And regarding the worry. Since the scope of our problems is limited to this world, and we have only this world to live in, the worry actually does not lessen a bit. It remains as it is. It would be a different case if we had multiple worlds to live in. At least the option of multiple worlds.

Of course it is entirely possible for the aliens to see the ice age or the various ages in the history now, as the light may take that much amount of time to travel there. They are looking at the past, essentially.

Probably that is false if you are talking about what humans can see without telescopes, etc. We can't see stars from other galaxies and our galaxy is only 30,000 light years across. And, it not likely any star we can see would have died in the 30,000 years.

It is quite a surreal feeling that I cannot describe into words satisfactorily. It’s somewhat of a bittersweet feeling, like when the world is ending but you’re with the company of loved ones as the final seconds count down. It’s a mixture of happy and sad emotions that creates a unique feeling that is hard to describe into words and can only be experienced to fully grasp its meaning.

It doesn't make me as sad as knowing it's getting less that we see every single day and that we will never be able to see all of it, cause even the stuff that is still there moves outside of the range that we are able to see stuff.
