Do you have to have had conformation to be married in a catholic church?

Is conformation required? And does the significant other have the be catholic AND confirmed?

To answer your first question - According to the Code of Canon Law, yes, you need to be confirmed, unless some "grave inconvenience" stops you from doing so. Personally, I think that language is weak and vague because "grave inconvenience" means different things to different people. I'd recommend looking it as a requirement. So that means get it arranged as soon as possible.

Your second question - The Catholic Church currently permits a Catholic to marry a non-Catholic, but does require that the children produced by that marriage be raised Catholic.
