If your family is Christian is it okay for you to be catholic?

I know that's where i am worried because my whole life my family tried pushing Christianity on me and it never clicked correctly, but I found that catholic beliefs made more sense to me.

They can argue for or against Biblical principles. I agree that worshiping statues, saints, etc. is prohibited in the Bible. However, arguing the case and condemning is not the same. By all means, argue your case of interpretation, but do not become intolerant. Each will be held accountable by God anyway, eventually, so each has to set his/her own bet and choose wisely

Catholics are christians, they worship Jesus Christ. That makes them Christians. Hence the Christ in the word Christian. When you enter a Catholic church you'll see a crucifix with Jesus on it. You'll usually see images of Christ also in stained glass windows because Catholics worship Jesus Christ.

I've never met anyone so uninformed on the Catholic church in my entire life. You really need to study more lol. Everything you said is completely wrong. I know because I've attended baptists churches and methodist churches and Episcopalian churches and was raised Roman Catholic. We are all denominations of Christianity. We literally read from the bible. Old and new testament. Our homilies are based off the teachings of mark Paul Luke and John, all books of the new testament of the bible.

Going around saying Catholics aren't Christian is straight up ignorant and also shows you know nothing about history as well and the roman empire and spread of Christianity throughout the world.

Also it doesn't matter that they call themselves Catholic lol. Baptists call themselves baptists, methodists call themselves methodists, presbyterians call themselves presbyterians. Guess what they are all christians.
