Salman Rushdie has had a “fatwa” against him for decades since authoring boring but very anti-Islam books. Then yesterday at a lecture someone (prob an Islamist) rushed up and stabbed him multiple times. He’s lost an eye, apparently.

I find it ironic that the Islamic faith sent out a fatwa Solomon Rusty. Giving people a better understanding of Muslims. Who is Christians did something similar in 1844. When a man brought forth a different viewpoint of Christianity. They martyred that man because of his beliefs. Inquisition also did similar things one Faith tried to dominate over another face and so forgiveness and put people to death because of their different viewpoints. Those different viewpoints started the reformation. Are we no different?

Few Christians would do such a thing. Western leftists are very critical of Christianity on an ongoing basis and nothing happens to them.

Christians are actually badly persecuted in some parts of the world, by the way.

But let's also remember that it was the Ayatollah Khomenei who issued the fatwa against Rushdie.

No, we wouldn't. And people know we wouldn't contrary to Islam. Which is why the only critique and/or ridicule on Islam ever only comes from the inside, dissidents from Muslim countries like Rushdie, because in the West it's quite popular among the seculars to mock Christianity given the knowledge that we do not go out and commit terrorist acts because of it, but not ever a word on Islam.
