Tests on three mummies found in Argentina have shed new light on the Inca practice of child sacrifice. Scientists have revealed that drugs and alcohol played a key part in the months and weeks leading up to the children's deaths. Tests on one of the children, a teenage girl, suggest that she was heavily sedated just before her demise. She is preserved this well because she was frozen during sleep and kept in a dry cold condition at more than 6000 meters above sea level all this time. No other treatment was necessary. Found in 1999 near the top of the Llullaillaco volcano, in northwestern Argentina, she was an archaeological revolution for being one of the best preserved mummies, since there was even blood in her body and her internal organs remained. Would you have been cool with being sacrificed to the gods if you lived in that time and place?  VOTE!

There is little evidence of it being a widespread practice.

But most likely it was outsiders or prisoners of war who were sacrificed.

Don't forget it's mostly Christians missionaries (who also stole all their gold and committed genocide) that spread the "ritual sacrifice" rumour to justify their actions.

For all we know, the Christian missionaries planted all that, to control the narrative.

well no but i chose yes because if i was living in that time, i would've been brought up in their beliefs and way of life so i would probably be happy to be a sacrifice?

Drugs and alcohol? Sedated? Sounds like a frat party. Pretty sure they roofied her, passed her around, then sacrificed her to the gods to cover up the evidence. Does that sound more like the University of Michigan or Michigan State culture?
