+1 yOn a scale of 0-10, probably a -1000. I'm FAR from religious, but I respect those that follow their own respective religions as long as they do not thrust their opinions/beliefs onto me. I'm not really a fan of people blaming God or their religion for their shortcomings. I feel like that sort of creates a victim mentality which can be really self-destructive. I don't really believe in God, and I sure as heck do not believe in religions because it is human made and I don't really see a point in following something or worshipping a human/mythical person that lived thousands of years ago.
My mother is religious, but she is not one of those fanatical religious extremists. She finds comfort and peace in religion, and I think that's OK. She does not go overboard, so I'm fine with it.

+1 yReligious to an extent but I practice more spirituality within myself but I do believe in God for sure. I don't judge people who aren't religious tho. People are entitled to believe what they believe or not believe it's literally almost 2023.

+1 yReligious in the traditional sense? Fairly so. I pray regularly. I recite from the Qur’ān. I don’t eat pork or blood. I remember G-d by saying alhamdulillah, subhanallah, and allahu akbar daily. I abstain from fornication. Religious in the etymological sense? No, I’m not superstitious, as being so is harām.

+1 yAlthough hard to really describe, I am very much so. I'm Christian and I believe in the tenants of my faith, however I do not believe in going to church, I believe in meeting with others and studying, but a church service isn't needed for this.

I was raised atheist and for at least half my life considered religion to be a fairytale. In my late 20s I began meditating and studying classical Zen.
Over time I came to a point were I considered myself spiritual but not religious. In my late 30s the dam broke. I did not speak of it much for year's but know I think it would be unfair to tell people I was anything other than highly religious.
I belong to no other congregation than my fellow Zennists and my doctrine is my own.
Perhaps the greatest irony is that I still believe religion is a fairy tale. Its just that I now know fairy tales are true. Indeed, they may be the only thing that truly is.
You must, however, be able to gear what try are actually trying to tell you. As Dahui taught "Our problem is simply that this thing cannot be said"00 Reply- 2.1K opinions shared on Religion & Spirituality topic.
u +1 yPretty. I'm a traditional Catholic. I attend Mass every Sunday (old school Latin Mass), I pray the Rosary at least once daily, and pray before what we call the Blessed Sacrament, which is the Body and Blood of Christ, for at least an hour each week.
10 Reply I am not religious at all. there's no point in believing something that doesn't exist. We just created god because we wanted to blame someone for our mishappenings. We were just too lazy to take responsibility for our own actions

Just because you didn’t find something doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.
- +1 y
Exactly!

We do take responsibility.

You seem to believe in this "blaming someone for our mishappenings story" and there is no evidence for this at all. Indeed, virtually all religions restrict superstition relative to the animism that is the natural human state.
I would say this is part of a general effort to expand the domain of consciousness and to bring man's natural spiritual instincts into focus.
+1 yMore religious than 99.9% of religious people. It's not a role I really want to be in, it's more like a role that somebody has to be in.
11 Reply- +1 y
Thanks for the respect, person who liked my post. I mean, yeah, one would kind of think that role would fall on the deacons and the pastors and whatever the hell, but you know, me with my pirate mouth. FUck all, why not! I'll be the only chaste person in church. The fucking icon of all Christendom. My stipulations are that I don't have to clap and stomp my feet during worship and I'm allowed to get all but tipsy on Monday nights, let alone touch alcohol as a Baptist. These are the perks of the job. Nothing very fun, I'm afraid.
+1 yI study all sorts of religions but I don't adhere to anything outside of the morals and values I find pretty much universal.
10 ReplyLogically, Catholicism is true. But it is very tough to follow. So working on it.
20 ReplyModerate. I go to church always twice a month and read the bible but I wouldn't say I'm super invested.

Nu, my paternal grandfather was a secular Jew. My father wasn’t religious, but he often planned some Jewish traditions, like circumcise me, not naming his kids after living relatives, etc. My mum told me I’m an ethnical Jew. Are You similar to my father or me?

Except you couldn't give a single example of what you're accusing me of doing. So, yeah, you made it up.
We are a religion, at base, about free will. We don't give a fuck about your politics, your gender, race, nationality, sexuality etc. We don't care what you worship, if anything, or how you do so.
Yes I am
