Do you believe that Torah / OT obedience leads to wealth and success?

I had over 12 health problems, my mom had cancer, my best friend was suicidal, I was being bullied at school and abused at home, the year I got accepted into the best school in the country and while being normal Intelligence, I got straight A’s at the best school in the country. I believe I did it by obeying the teachings of the Old Testament. Now, while being neither beautiful nor very smart, I want to make millions and get a graduate degree from Harvard. I believe God can help me do it if I obey the bible.

I think a positive out look on life can take you so far. And if the holly books like the Tora or the bible, can guide you and keep you having a positive outlook on life while all the unfortunate things happen to you, you 6most definitely go far.

I believe you are very correct in obeying and trying to keep Gods commands, but in my world what your statement veers toward is called biblical legalism. Many sects in religion go this way and it's more of a "If I do X, Y, and Z... God will bless me"... not entirely wrong that God WILL bless you as He says, but man was put under the Law to show that they could NOT keep the Law themselves, but rather needs God and mercy and grace. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. Israel has been shown time and again to try to keep the Law and continually fail and fall away from God. I would just look into that aspect and try to research the topic. God doesn't promise wealth and prosperity, but does promise salvation and joy and the true desires of your heart if you have a relationship with Him.

Be careful about reading proverbs as promises. They are more like guidelines or general truths instead of guarantees. Also, they can be misunderstood. Wealth or success takes many forms other than money or prestige.
