My religion is Christianity.
The reason for many religions is because in the ancient world it was very common for people instead of worshipping and acknowledging the creator in God they prefer to physically create gods (demons) in the form of images they can see physically to pray to and the purpose of these gods were to help them win wars, for protection, for rain for their crops and fertility.
Hence, since then people just had their own version of spiritually and their philosophies of who god is or what they feel comfortable as their god.
You forgot one last section. It should be a smaller circle in the center in of that pie chart. And labeled "truth". There is truth to be found if you dig deep enough into all of them, but in the surface they are all used to control people.
maybe you're wrong
Different cultures, values and social norms.
It makes sense to me.
There is only one god, isn't there?
oww thats very interesting

The same reason there are so many different languages, and you only speak the ones you need.
Only dipshits still bring up the "so many different religions" old chestnut. Move on kiddo.
I'm an atheist as for why well this question is part of that answer with so many different beliefs in the world what makes anyone think they just so happen to be born into the right one
I have faith.
what religion do you believe in
I'm Catholic
So why is it because of your catholic family?
Because I have faith.
no no i mean you have faith and you believe catholic.. but Islam is also the religion of God. Why aren't you a Muslim?
I dont believe in Muhammad, I also don't believe in Joseph Smith.
I believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only-begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
consubstantial with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven:by the power of the Holy Spirit
was incarnate of the Virgin Mary,
and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is adored and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.
I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins,
and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come.
thank you for the answer it was a really detailed response.
@justFriend
But funny enough, it doesn’t answer the question.

@UCrayCray no problem dear ;)
@UCrayCray that would be an ecumenical matter
