Christians is it true that we should always respect our parents to have a longer and successful life?

According to my aunt in bible if we respect our parents God will grant us long and successful life and if you disobey or not nice to your parents your life will not be successful like that

Forgiving your parents & not harboring anger will make you happier & less stressed. Stress makes you age quicker & love makes you live longer. However, you don't have to stay in your parents lives if they don't treat you with love and respect. You don't have to obey your parents. Many parents don't know what is best for their children. You have to follow your heart and do what's best for you. If your parents aren't doing the best thing for you, why would God want you to obey them? That would mean he'd want you to do something that's not good for you. And obviously he doesn't want that.

Before I continue with my answer, it needs to be said that honoring your father and mother does not include obeying them when they tell you to do something that is contrary to God’s commandments. And honoring your parents does not include remaining a prisoner within an abusive home. Families with a destructive cycle of sin are dangerous, and children who break free need to find safety in the family of God—which is every Christian’s true family (Matthew 10:35–38).

Honoring your parents can include obedience, but it also includes praying for them, encouraging them to do what is right, and not speaking badly about them to others. It’s demonstrating grace and compassion even if they don’t deserve it.

No that’s something that was placed in some version of some Bible made to trick kids into listening to their parents though I suppose it is looked at as a truth to some in this day and age in reality you do not have to respect someone who uses you for their own personal benifit by doing so you become a fool enduring pain for someone who would not do the same for you trust your heart and what feels right

I don't know everything about your situation. I assume it's possible they are the good ones and you're just uncomfortable, in that case you should "respect" them.
If they're clearly wrong somewhere, go against it.
