My answer is “it depends.” When I found myself dating in mid-life after my long-term marriage failed, I realized that whoever I dated would most likely have a higher body count than I did, or would be affected negatively by modernity. I decided to decide on women based on why things didn’t work out for them in their past and who they are in the present. Bad things happen to good people, or sometimes people don’t realize the gravity of decisions until they are older. I made mistakes myself. So what mattered to me was whether the woman had been malicious, or whether she was kind-hearted but made some bad decisions about men in the past. And most importantly, who is she today? My first serious relationship was with someone who had a body count of zero and she made my life hell for 20 years. Body count on its own is not a good basis for judgement.
