Anybody know why sunni muslim called shia muslim polytheist?

i dont care if wrongly, but what did they refer to? thanks.

like islam wrongly called Christianity polytheism , due to the trinity, wrongly because the "trinity is one" in the ancient creed statement, but they refer to it poly because "3 personality" plural. similar i ask what they refer to in shia islam?

There are various sects in Christianity and some are polytheist. Not only for their belief in "trinity" but their beliefs in Mary and her family being "divine".

As for the Shia assertion, you need to provide context. But it may be that person is not of the "Twelvers" but rather of the smaller Shia cults and believes in the divinity of some of the imams.

In the Abrahamic faiths of Islam, Christianity and Judaism, any addition to the Oneness of God is polytheism. Doesn't matter how you spin "trinity" it is still an addition.
