Do you require the existence of a god (any god) to be a good person?

Oh now this is a good question and could go so many ways depending on interpretation. So my two interpretations are as follows:
1. Can good people exist if god doesn't? This I can only hope is a yes as otherwise genocide would be the only option available. One could argue that good is defined in relationship to god and without god we wouldn't have a marker to measure to, but I think thats b. s.
2. Is gods existence a requirement for you to be a good person? I. e. would you require gods existance to be proven to start being a good person or are you only a good person because god exists. While I think there are likely a. Number of religious people who do fall under the later category I do not, and follow my belifs because I genuinly believe that as an individual and the world at large are better off for me following my belifs whether or not god is real.

2 necessities first we would not know "what is considerd bad". what harm is two consenting adult male? unless bible taught. what bad with a fetus before birth? unless god said bad. people who do abortions or even encourage it are outside "good people" due to harming and doing bad. so only due to god we are ABLE to avoid bad abortion etc. by learning what is bad.

secondly nothing BESIDE god is stopping criminals and rapists who are "confidently rely on atheism" no punishment. but if we could teach fear of god in first grade maybe less adult rapists who would not rely on atheism. also need to cause doubt in atheism for same reasons.

this unpopular view is sincere not satire.

A person can only objectively be "good" if there is a God. No God means subjective morality.

To bring it down to your level. You have laws and fines for driving over 20 in a school zone. You cannot be honest in suggesting if there were no laws or punishment, people would all still drive 20 in a school zone.

no, cause what is good and bad are subjective to the individual and can be negotiated or discussed and agreed upon by entires societies without any sort of god ever having done anything. and what is good or bad is not at all universally agreed upon, cause if that was the case, there would not be different national laws.
