How To Choose A Religion?

For a few months now, I've been having had a really hard internal battle about what religion I subscribe to. I've always practiced Paganism, specifically eclecticism. But recently I've felt really called to Islam and have been really inspired by Blaire Imani. I've been wearing hijab full time for almost a year now. That being said, I dont really like the idea of organized religion and know the quran was written by humans, specifically men in favor of men, not Allah. The only way to know what Allah or any God or goddess wants from us is to speak to them directly, not through man. I have a hard time accepting this while also wanting to follow Allah and be a good Muslim but holding onto my pagan beliefs. I also believe in magic and it has been very beneficial so I know my way of life simply isn't in line with what the Quran lays out, in fact its flatly stated it's haram. Some things make sense, other don't. I feel so torn between these two sides and I don't know what to believe or do. I don't want to keep wearing hijab if I'm not fully on board with Islam so people don't mistake me for being Muslim, even tho I've loved it so far. Do y'all have any advice? Do any muslims and/or pagans specifically have any advice?

You're going to have a rough time. You're incapable of being anything if you can't commit heart and soul, and also keeping who you are safely. You won't be a Muslim, as paganism still calls to your soul, and trying to crush that out will only serve to injure your soul.

You don't need any religion. Not a single one. If you want to believe in Allah, do so, on your own terms. Enjoy his gifts. The feel of hot soil between your toes. The sun on your face. The wind rustling the leaves overhead.

It does not matter what divine you choose, hell you don't even have to pick just one. I believe most deities exist in some form or another, but I only worship 4, as those 4 are simpatico with who and what I am. They don't try to control me. They don't try to change me. They accept me as I am. THAT is what you need.

Also, the hell do you mean, "clean myself up first"? The whole point of my post was that I'm figuring shit out. What do you think I'm doing here? And I may be no scholar when it comes to Islam, but I know a lot more than just "jack shit". It's funny how you know nothing about me or the sheer about of research I've done on both topics and more. Of course there is always more to learn, but don't undermine my knowledge without first being knowledgeable.

I'm not out here scrolling the aisles at a store looking for a fucking religion to follow. If you got your head outta YOUR ass you'd realize my struggle comes from feeling called or "invited" to both religions. The issue comes when one very much condemns the other. They are polar opposites, which makes me feel like I have to choose a side. The worse sin in Islam is worshipping anyone other than Allah and paganism very much acknowledges other gods, goddesses and other deities. Do you get it now?

several options take a course called "comparitive religion" or use a paper encyclopedia to recognize about each religion... if it managed to convince many hundred millions. i wouldn't waste time with those that failed to convince masses for example taosim zoriastry etc

Being Muslim, I advise you to first have thorough study about your supposed religion, when you are satisfied and your mind accepts the best religion, the you follow, otherwise be Pagan or Orthodox

I know what the Quran says. It's part of why I'm conflicted. It also says horrible stuff about homosexual people as well. It's very clearly written by men for me, which is why if I do choose a path with Allah, I have to discern what Allah truly wants vs what the men who wrote the Quran want. And the only way to do that is through prayer.

I feel like many people don't need a religion and that's how they are best suited going about this world. We are all called to walk different paths in this world and that's wonderful. I'm not saying I "need" a religion, but I very much feel called to these two ones and they are kinda opposites of each other and I don't know what to do there.
