u +1 yTo answer this, two sets of questions need to be asked. The first set of questions sets the stage for the second.
ORIGIN - Who established the religion, when, where, how, and why?
OBJECT - What do adherents hope to obtain? Why must they obtain it and how? ? What aids to the faithful have in their pursuit of the object? What do they fear losing (this is a valid and an important question)? What is the relationship between the origin and the object?
The next set of questions revolves around the former.
HISTORY - Has it flourished and if so, how? What has it suffered and overcome - from both without and within - and again, how? Also important: WHY? What influence does it have on the world and its history? What role does the object play? What was the cultural setting and what were the languages and customs from that time?
LEADERSHIP - What is the role of the leadership in respect to the object? Where do they get their authority and how is it to be exercised? Is there a consistent line of leadership and how is it maintained?
CLARITY - What does it teach about the object, how are the doctrines preserved, and how are they clarified and taught? What demands does it make of adherents? How is the object different from that of other religions and beliefs? What texts and traditions support and surround the doctrines?
UNITY AND OUTREACH - Is the religion restricted to one people, tribe, or culture or is it meant to transcend political, cultural, and geographic boundaries? And again, how does it relate to the object?
These questions find the most satisfactory responses in the traditional Catholic faith. The true religion ought to be one whose aim is to not only redeem, but glorify our fallen human nature in the life to come, rather than affirm and encourage. It should be to make man more relatable to God, rather than the other way around (Christ already did so by becoming one of us).01 Reply- +1 y
those questions are added burden. just compare the different faiths from within.

+1 y1, a question like this will draw ten people each saying "mine" atheism true islam true etc.
2, the first step is look at people, which religion PROVED to most people. then exclude those most populous, that spread by fear, sword conquest and inquisition because not by proof.
3, one remains. if you find a contradiction in bible start by assuming only one of the 2 versions is true... next pray which...
of them is the true one. sometimes after prayer, you will reread and see a new angle not contradict or which one is the true source. other times no guidance so, just pick one of the versions, temporarily, while waiting for the time god will teach you.

+1 yThere is no one correct religion. Everyone has the right to believe in whatever they want and find their own path.
Religion is a very personal thing and everyone interprets their own spiritual beliefs differently. Some people follow a specific religion, while others don't have a particular affiliation. All that matters is that you believe in what feels right for you and that you treat others with respect and understanding.
01 Reply- +1 y
but if god is real then what did god expect or command?
Atheism. Not living in fear of someone/thing, and this being that prevents you from doing nasty, selfish, etc. things to others. You can have a moral code that doesn't come from and isn't dictated by others. And you can not rely on wishthinking to make things happen in your life.
04 Reply- +1 y
But that still IS wishful thinking, because it relies on God not being there, with no more conclusive evidence than its opposite. Do you mean agnosticism?
- +1 y
@NamerOfStars Totally disagree.
People act differently whether they believe there is or isn't a god. I'm giving the no-god philosophy of life. There is no wishful thinking on my end. And I don't have to prove there is no god. The proving is the responsibility of the believer. Which, of course, can't be proven. And that's why I never discuss religion with those who do want to believe. I've been down that road many times before, and listened to hours of "proof, which we strongly disagreed on. The root of it is that some people want to believe, and some don't. We cannot argue based on a pretense of fact or proof. There is no proof.
My point was that religion is a choice. And not a necessary one to live a decent life, where you can live honourably, and treat others well. - +1 y
But you DO believe- specifically, that there isn't a god. Atheism is no less a matter of faith than any other religion. Whether its a CORRECT religion, I won't presume to say, but that it IS a religion isn't a matter of agreement or disagreement; it's acknowledgement or denial of the plain facts in front of you. Theological neutrality would be agnosticism; sociological neutrality would be secularism; atheism is neither.

oh yeah we see just how moral society is... on the news more murders more rapes only fear of god will reduce some rapists.

Which is the correct language? There are so many languages, and even more dialects?
There main purpose of language is communication. Just as there is only One God and all religions are expressions and rituals to speak to him, from that language or culture.
You wouldn't do well well trying to speak Russian to an American, English only, dullard. Hence why there is more complexity in the world than it needs.
It's not language or religions that are the problem, it's people and their personal cultures and dipshit "feelings".

your analogy doesn't match. if god is real he commanded something... if he commanded jew then wrong to wear a cross get it?
No one can give you this answer without coming across as pushing their own religion. I personally choose to not be religions and seek relationship with God. You must seek God for yourself to find this answer. Personally I landed on Christianity, but not the religions elements. For me that was after some deep study on other religions and finding the "proof" I needed to believe.
Seek and you will find, the key is to not give up until you do.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yIn 1688 Emanuel Swedenborg was born. At 50 or in his 50s he used psychic powers 2 talk 2 spirit guides. Among one thing that's the same of people who've had current near death experiences is that Christians n non-Christians go 2 heaven.
In the book "Life After Life" someone had a near death n described it was heavenly. I read that Evangelical Christians don't accept near deaths because it shows a certain religion only doesn't go 2 heavn. Finally a guy did research on near deaths n said God doesn't care what religion u r.02 Reply

04 Reply- +1 y
by WRITING instead of whispers
- +1 y
depends which. your claim only challenges the ones before writng but moses maybe 1300b. c. can write.
- +1 y
@strateguy632 Logic dictates a random religion developed way after many religions that pre-date it that religion is wrong. As that's how Chinese whispers work. More it get's away from the original one the more wrong it becomes.
Not that I agree there ever was a original correct religion anyway. Cavemen were just dumb and didn't know how to explain things so blamed it on magical or godly things.

Asker+1 ybut there are contradictory verses in the bible
- +1 y
No, there isn't. It's just your perspective is off or you haven't read the whole Bible.
The Bible often repeats same events from a different perspective and people like call contradictions.
Post me 3 contradictions and I will explain it to you.
Asker+1 yFirst of all, I was not born in a Christian family, but because I was curious about this religion, I started researching. How can a man be a god? How can God die? this trinity doesn't make sense to me, I will be glad if you explain
- +1 y
Jesus is the image and Son of God who is a Spirit.
God the Father never died, the Son did and it was willingly on His part as Jesus can't be killed.
As far the trinity, God is one but manifest Himself as tri-being, The father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Think of it as H2O. Water, ice and steam.
Asker+1 yThank you, i will search about Christianity
- +1 y
The Holy Spirit testifies of all things regarding the truth of God's word.
Make sure you get a New Kings James Bible and read it. Beware of some Bible translations, as they are corrupt

any idea unpopular FAILED to convince and prove people whether with god or without.
saying the big bang is a mystery and life started from chemicals as a mystery and single cell became fish as a mystery is just as blind faith as god , so people prefer god. - +1 y
