Christians, why didn’t Jesus ever mention hell?

Is it true that we’ll burn in hell if we’re not saved, or will we just cease to exist in spirit, like Adam and Eve? I’m intrigued by this.

I have heard that hell was actually a concept created by the church later. And also hell is described in a lot of different ways. It's probably because hell is actually about a spiritual state of mind and not a place.

The bible has descriptions of hell or a place of torment or of a place without God. I think it's important to try and live a God-centered life and I think it's good to be good to others and yourself.

What exactly happens after death, I'm not sure. If you believe strongly that you're a good person, you will likely be in a good place.

Matthew 13:42, and will throw them into the furnace of fire.

cast into hell, where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.

If you think you will go to Hell if you are not saved, then don't you think you should get saved? It doesn't cost you anything to be saved, but if you are not when you die you will lose it all and spend eternity in the Lake of Fire. The Bible speaks a lot about hell in the New Testament.

He did. He may not have often used the word "Hell", which He did, but He did often refer to "Gehenna", "everlasting fire", "the place prepared for the Devil and his angels", "everlasting death", and a handful of others.

I would assume it's cause he didn't want people following him out of fear, instead they followed him from love

@mementomori777But wouldn't you warn your loved ones that if they aren't saved they will pay for their own sins, which is spiritual death, and spend eternity in hell. Would they listen without the fear of God knocked into them? And Jesus DOES speak of hell, several times. What do you think keeps people from committing crimes? It isn't love, it's fearing going to prison or worse.

You need to learn to read first, before asking such questions, kiddo. The Harrowing of Hell by Jesus is what Dante's inferno and many classical works and even modern "hell" interpretations are based on! It's a fucking tenet of the Christian faith!

Next you're going to tell me Dawkins never mentions God!
