Pentecostals tend to over spiritualize things. Speaking in tongues simply means the ability to speak in a language unknown to the speaker to proclaim the gospel. It is not some incomprehensible language that only God can understand. Speaking in tongues is known as glossolalia. It is not a supernatural thing but rather a human thing. Pegans also “speak in tongues.” They don’t even have the Holy Spirit in them. Therefore we know that speaking in tongues as Pentecostals do is not Biblical nor supernatural.

Aside from this they tend to be very focused on demons. If someone cusses too much is because the cussing demon is affecting them. If someone drinks too much, it’s because the drinking demon is affecting them. Mind you this is the Pentecostal view I’ve heard. I think that is very seriously over spiritualizing things. Scripture does not state specific demons tempt in particular sins so far as I know. Additionally most of those things are not due to demonic activity but rather due to the flesh.

However I have serious grievances against the Roman Catholic Church. Not all Catholics, just the Roman Catholic Church. Far too many grievances to list here so I’ll just touch on two of them. 1. Their handling of the sex abuse scandals were deplorable and reprehensible. Rather than turn the guilty parties over to face justice and rather than enact church discipline on them, they simply transferred them and tried to sweep it under the rug. Their lack of accountability there is abhorrent and I’m sure Christ is not pleased. 2. Additionally the pope has very recently declared he will bless same sex couples. Same sex marriage is not allowed but same sex couples who are not married can have their relationship blessed. This is abominable and absolutely disobedient to the Lord. The RC church is quite apostate at this point, and not in right standing with God. Mind you, just these 2 issues are just a small segment of the RC church. There are about 20 or 30 doctrinal problems I have with their theology.

I however am Catholic. I am not Roman Catholic. I’m Polish Catholic. We are not under the authority of the Vatican and are completely independent from the Roman Catholic Church. I feel that independent forms of Catholicism such as I am, or Greek Orthodox are the best churches. They tend to be devout. The form of corporate worship is as close to the way it was from the very start. There is a serious attitude against sin in these churches, and worship is conducted with the utmost reverence and solemnity. Both are extremely traditional. I prefer this manner of “doing church” as it is most closely in line with biblical principals and has changed very little in the last 1700 years. I prefer to stick with tradition as modernism is destroying the church as a whole. I see traditionalism in worship in part as a way to defend against apostasy and as a partial antidote to PC, Social Justice, and Woke ideology, along with feminism that has crept into churches now.

I don't understand how come tou didn't converted to pentecostal at the time when you were 16? What made you not join pentecostal. I can't stand catholics have you not seen how inmodest catholic woman dress? The catholic chruch follows the things of this world rather then preaching the word of tge Lord the way God wants us to live. About the pope how do you know what if his is a satanist or a wizard? You know he is now allowing sane sex couples to get blessing now that is demonic. Catholic people are the worst. I've seen it with my eyes.

I’m not disappointed. If your conscience dictates you don’t wear pants, and you feel it’s sin, then you should not wear pants. I don’t think you need to do that, but if your conscience says you do, then so be it.

I have very harsh criticism for the Roman Catholic Church. So do all independent Catholic Churches. We separated from them for a reason. The RC church is fully apostate at this time.

You must remember as the scriptures say: “not all Israel is Israel. God doesn’t care if you’re a Baptist or Presbyterian. He cares if you love and obey him. No one will stand before God on Judgment Day and say: “but Lord, I was a Presbyterian.

Just as there is the nation of Israel, there is “spiritual” Israel. Not all Israel is Israel. I tell you assuredly the church pews are now full of people who are headed to Hell. One may call them self a Christian all they care too. However the true Christian is the one who does what their Lord says. Not that works can save, on the contrary, but Jesus must be one’s savior and Lord. One must obey their Lord, regardless of denomination.

I don’t like Pentecostalism. I see it as very close to a cult and I see several biblical errors they make. I notice many of them are more interested in spiritual “powers” and not simple obedience. I notice many seem to want some emotional experience and to involve themselves in perceived supernatural experience rather than mortifying their flesh and focusing on doing the Lord’s will. That is not true of all of them but some of them.

You must remember the parable our Lord taught about the wheat and tears. Both the sinner and saved are found even in the church. Both the willful sinner and saved grow together like wheat and tears in a farmers field, but not all are saved. The tears will be bundled and cast into the fire at the end of the age. Churches are full of both the truly saved and those who are destined for damnation, our Lord taught us this.

“But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For they are not all Israel who are descended from Israel; nor are they all children because they are Abraham’s descendants, but: “through Isaac your descendants shall be named.” That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are regarded as descendants.”
      ‭‭Romans‬ ‭9‬:‭6‬-‭8‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬

See, this applies to those Catholic women you were talking about. Just because someone says “I’m Catholic, or I’m Pentecostal, or I’m a Christian really is.” Lots of people who call themselves Christians who only go to church on Christmas and Easter and never read the Bible or pray. They’re found in every church. So are they who say: “My mother was a “Baptist.” Great. What about you?

So not all of the nation of Israel is redeemed spiritual Israel. Israel meaning all the redeemed Jews who were, are, and will be saved. The scripture is saying, there are Jews and then there are saved Jews. There are Catholics, then there are saved Catholics. There are Pentecostals, then there are saved Pentecostals. There are people who merely attend an Orthodox Church, and call themselves Orthodox Christians, and there are also the real ones who are saved.

      Does this make sense?

So it matters not what group you assign to yourself or denomination or even whether you were born a Jew or not. You often say: Catholic women dress like sluts. Ok. Which ones? I’ll bet these are the kind as just stated. Not real Christians, not saved, Christian or Catholic in name only. You will find this type in every church. Also people who attend regularly and hear and obey nothing and go about their lives unchanged. Would it matter if they called themselves Anglican’s right? They’re just sinners, the same as any other disguised as saints or pretending to be one. Make sense?

      Our Lord taught us this:

“Jesus presented another parable to them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and left. And when the wheat sprouted and produced grain, then the weeds also became evident. And the slaves of the landowner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have weeds?’ And he said to them, ‘An enemy has done this!’ The slaves *said to him, ‘Do you want us, then, to go and gather them up?’ But he *said, ‘No; while you are gathering up the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. Allow both to grow together until the harvest; and at the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather up the weeds and bind them in bundles to burn them; but gather the wheat into my barn.” ’ ””
      ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13‬:‭24‬-‭30‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬

The wheat here represent the true Christians. The weeds, non Christians.

      Note this scripture:

“Jesus presented another parable to them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field.”
      ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13‬:‭24‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬

This is a story about the Kingdom of Heaven. When you see that phrase it either means the future kingdom at the end of the age, or in broader reference meaning to the Church, to the true church of God, no matter the denomination. The truly saved.

This event takes place in the later regarding what I just stated. Meaning in churches.

Note the weed and the wheat are together in one place. In the kingdom. Meaning the church is made up of not just saints, but also sinners.

“But he *said, ‘No; while you are gathering up the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. Allow both to grow together until the harvest; and at the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather up the weeds and bind them in bundles to burn them; but gather the wheat into my barn.” ’ ””

Now, note. The weeds and wheat God allows to grow together. So God allows both the real saved Christians and the false ones to be together in church as the entire body. This means as I said. Not all Christians who call themselves Christians really are. Not all Catholics are good Catholics and are even saved. The same with Pentecostals, and any true Christian denomination you care to mention. As the scripture teaches both the sinner and saint are found in church together. Sometimes the disguise is quite convincing. Some times the fake Christians are so good at deceiving they deceive themselves and think they are saved.

But note, the Lord is not fooled. At the end of the age he shall gather his wheat (real true Christians) into his barn (Heaven) and the weeds (false Christians, fakes, the self deceived, imposters) to be burned (go to eternal Judgement with the final destination being the Lake of Fire).

Here Jesus explains the parable you just read:

“Then He left the crowds and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him and said, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds of the field.” And He said, “The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man, and the field is the world; and as for the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom; and the weeds are the sons of the evil one; and the enemy who sowed them is the devil, and the harvest is the end of the age; and the reapers are angels. So just as the weeds are gathered up and burned with fire, so shall it be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all stumbling blocks, and those who commit lawlessness, and they will throw them into the furnace of fire; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. The one who has ears, let him hear.”

Here our Lord gives a parable with the exact same meaning as the last parable but using fish instead of wheat and weeds:

““Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet that was cast into the sea and gathered fish of every kind; and when it was filled, they pulled it up on the beach; and they sat down and gathered the good fish into containers, but the bad they threw away. So it will be at the end of the age: the angels will come forth and remove the wicked from among the righteous, and they will throw them into the furnace of fire; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. “Have you understood all these things?” They *said to Him, “Yes.” And Jesus said to them, “Therefore every scribe who has become a disciple of the kingdom of heaven is like a head of a household, who brings out of his treasure new things and old.””

So this should help you understand why when you see women who are Catholics dressed as sluts you understand why. The problem isn’t Catholicism. It’s the person (a weed).

I will video tape my next church service. I guarantee you won’t find one person dressed anything like a slut if you’d like.

There are quite a few Catholics that are not RC. It’s not as popular in America as in Europe. There is the Polish National Catholic Church (PNCC) which I am a member of and greatly enjoy. Mass is literally no different than in an RC church. Most things are literally the same, but there are some substantial differences. We allow our bishops, priests and all clergy to marry. We completely reject Vatican I, Vatican II and some parts of the Council of Trent, particularly in regards to church discipline. We reject the infallibility of the pope. We are allowed to use birth control. We reject Mary being coredemptrix with Christ and also being mediatrix. We reject the assumption of Mary. We reject transubstantiation in regard to communion. We do not believe in divorce for any reason, but will allow a divorced person to receive communion so long as they have asked forgiveness and have repented.

Otherwise everything is pretty much exactly the same. You wouldn’t notice a difference between our mass and a RC mass.

There are also independent Catholics, old Catholics, and others. They’re all very Catholic in every sense of the word. We and they practice the 7 sacraments. We also do not have confession for anyone over the age of 12. We believe one can confess to God and whom they have wronged on their own. However, we will do confession if someone wants it, but it is not required and is done by request only.

We also strongly dislike Pope Francis and the SJW/Liberalism in the RC now. We will have no part of such. We are very conservative politically and will not change.

We are also looking at adding a Latin Mass, but for now we use only English and mostly the Latin rite with a bit of the Roman rite mixed in. It’s very similar to the Novus Ordo mass that is standard in every RC church.

You may want to look into Polish National Catholic Church. The RC is apostate now as Francis has allowed for the blessing of same sex relationships, even though same sex marriage

Still not allowed in the RC, they are clearly creeping towards it. To bless same sex relationships, married or not is outright sin. All true followers of Christ should now leave the RC as they openly endorse homosexuality at least on a non married level.

The alternatives are out there. You just have to find them. I didn’t know such churches existed either until about 2 months ago. I found a PNCC near me, set up a meeting with the bishop to discuss what their church is about and their beliefs. I found I liked very much what he had to say. I am now Catholic again, just not Roman Catholic and will likely never set foot in a Protestant church as they have largely become just as socially liberal as the RC is now.

In regards to there being many Latin Masses in your area, this is a good thing. It is an attempt to revert back to the traditional worship in the Latin church that has not changed much in nearly 2000 years. For those such as myself who understand or speak Latin it is a very special treat to take part in a Latin Mass. I strongly encourage you to go at least once. You do not need to understand Latin. The missiles have both the Latin and English in them so you can understand what is being said. I think you’d be blown away by the beauty of the Latin Mass. Truly there is no better way to celebrate Christ and enjoy worship together with our brothers and sisters in the Lord.

If Pentecostalism works for you, I think it is fine, but I don’t personally like their theology or form of worship.

Yes, entities can and do follow and observe us, but they can do noting to us unless they have permission from God first. However I strongly doubt most people have ever experienced demon oppression. The most that most have experienced is ordinary temptation, and trials which the demons are behind, but allowed by Christ. Trials make us stronger and test the validity of our faith, and often the Lord allows demons to do those when he seeks to test or refine us.

Well, perhaps the Lord answered your prayers and led you there. I’m not saying there aren’t saved Pentecostals and that the Pentecostal church is in gave sin or apostate. I’m just very weary of some of their teachings, highly suspicious of the spiritual condition of many of them, and am not interested in novel spiritual experiences that I believe are completely false, but that’s me. You gotta do you. There is freedom in Christ so long as that freedom is not used as an opportunity to sin.

I strongly doubt you had demons attached to you. It is possible, but unlikely. I think you are just traumatized from what happened to you as a kid.

Personality but not in the occult.

Speaking in tongues is not dangerous. It is a gift of the Holy Spirit that I think is no longer in existence. God granted some the ability to speak languages they never learned to proclaim the gospel in the native language of the audience and as a sign they were from God.

All that speaking in tongues is, is for example if you suddenly knew how to speak Chinese though you never learned a word of it in your life. It’s supernatural. After Christ ascended into heaven, his disciples and their followers were tasked with spreading the Gospel. How can one spread the Gospel to people who don’t speak their language? Therefore God ordained that some be granted supernatural ability to speak languages they didn’t know to spread the gospel.

Speaking other languages is not an invitation to Satan or his demons.

Yes, there needs to be a translator. If someone is preaching in a church in Greek to an audience who speaks Latin, then the Latin speakers cannot understand. When the church was born in Jerusalem that region had many speakers of Latin, Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic. Sometimes people would come to observe Christians, but could not understand what language was spoken in the community. So, God enabled one to preach in their native tongue that they may hear the gospel, and a translator was required for the others who did not understand that language. If I speak only Russian and preach to a church with people who only speak French I may as well be babbling as they will understand nothing.

That’s all that speaking in tongues is.

IT IS NOT some supernatural language that only God can understand. What is called speaking in tongues by Pentecostals and Charismatics is really just glossalia and pegans do it too, so we know it’s not some supernatural ability. It’s literally just babbling. Making strange noises.

Exterminator Seriously dramatized me. No kidding that's what the world calleds it. But in reality it open doors to demons. You know I find it instresting after my deliverance my therapist told me only 3 weeks left visits that Shebsaw no need for meto get therapy that I cure from my childhood trauma its what she calls it of course people in the world called that instead of being set free. I personally believe speaking in tougues still exist today and its a beautiful gift from the Lord. Now you told me once your wife was chicano who hispanic people practice that thing they called santeria my ex husband practices that. Sir what makes you think yourbex wife wasn't a witch? People 8n the world called them liars but from my understanding as a new born christian now I believe she open doors to demons of course she wasn't going to tell you she was a witch. Maybe she practice santeria behind your back. Who knows maybe your exwife wasn't the one for you maybe she did you a magic spell to make you like her. Sir what makes you think witch carft and sorsery doesn't exist? You always been a christia your whole life so you really dont know what people in the world are like. You might get angry at me Sir probably you won't want to be my friend because of my past. Now many years ago I got myself invovle into sorsery I was in survival modenat the time I was really young I wasn't mature about christianity. I did made a work spell on y step dad next day hengot very sick he lost his job. I even made hard works on my mom. All that childhood past open doors to demons I was full of hate. Same thing with my now ex husband when I cought him lets just say 8n the middle of the scene I open the door to demons of hate. Sir because of my past you will decide not to be my friend Sir. Sir I'm a former witch. This is why I kept telling you Halloween is a dangerous holiday.

Which Catholics are you talking about? Because from where I'm sitting, the Catholics that have praises heaped upon them are climate alarmists like Pope Francis, whom the media somehow adores, despite his history of reviving and covering up for sexual predators. They love Joe Biden, John Kerry, and James Martin SJ. But faithful and orthodox Catholics like Cardinal Raymond Burke, Bishop Joseph Strickland, Bishop Athanasius Schneider, and Amy Coney Barrett are vilified.

As for me? If I've ever been praised for anything around here, it's not because of my Catholic faith.

Orthodox and obedient Catholics are berated, even by Pope Francis, as rigid, backwards-thinking bigots. So again, I ask to which Catholics you are referring.

As for Pentecostals? Have you ever stopped to consider that maybe, just maybe, the problem might be you? If my dealings with you and some of your recent posts are an indication of anything, I really have to wonder what you're confused about, and more importantly, why. You're self-righteous, you're judgmental, you have no sense of prudence or evangelical tact, you have no discernable sense of self-awareness, you go all guns blazing into situations and then act like you're the completely innocent victim and have done absolutely nothing wrong whatsoever (case in point, your friend and the wedding dress).

And for the record, I don't believe for one second that your descriptions of the events in such questions are accurate.

You post all sorts of Catholic-bashing questions, you then invite me to answer them (like you did with this question) , and then you don't listen to a single thing I say. You even go out of your way at times to work in a swipe at the Catholic Church.

If you think Pentecostals aren't viewed favorably, then all you need to do is look in the mirror to see why.

I agree with what you said about Pope Francis. I strongly dislike him as well but I really feel that the church has no future if people like him are in charge.

From my understanding the current Pope appoints all the Cardinals, and then those cardinals elect the next Pope.

I hope I’m wrong, but as far as I’m concerned the church leadership could be permanently woke.

@WhiteBoyChill The pope does select the Cardinals, who then will select a new pope from among them. However, just because Francis picked them doesn't mean that they will elect someone like him once he is gone. There's a saying in Rome, "a fat pope follows a skinny pope". I suspect the Francis will use whatever means necessary see that someone to his liking will follow him. Whether that will be successful or not has yet to be seen.

And while the danger of a Francis II is very real and would certainly prolong the crisis in the Church, such efforts will ultimately fail and spectacularly so. If for no other reason, the younger priests being ordained are increasingly more conservative and traditional. It may not happen in my lifetime, but the unholy fruits of this wicked shepherd will be soundly condemned.

I really don’t wish death upon anybody, but I just wish church leaders would actually put pressure on the Pope to step down.

Especially with what he has said about American catholics, very uncool

@WhiteBoyChill Unfortunately, I doubt that will happen. Francis loves power too much. That and he apparently has, according to late Catholic journalist George Neumayer, a unique ability to manipulate corrupt, weak-willed, and compromised clergy, by whom Francis is surrounded.

Plus, since no pope has ever been declared invalid, I don't think many of them would want to deal with the legal can of worms that would be opened. I suspect that such is a discussion that will happen at some point after Francis is gone though.

Personally though, I just pray that we will soon be delivered from Francis. I say "delivered" because even after he dies, there will be a placeholder who will administer the Church until a new pope is elected. Francis has appointed some very terrible cardinals, the favorite among the liberals is probably Pietro Parolin, who helped organize Francis' selling out of the Catholic Church in China to the CCP. Parolin has some baggage though, including but not limited to the scandal I just mentioned. There are some others I can think of who would also be worse continuations of Francis.

And even if a good and holy pope were elected, like Peter Erdo, Gerhard Mueller, or Raymond Burke, the corruption in the Church is too deeply entrenched. There really wouldn't be a whole lot they'd be able to do to resolve this unprecedented crisis.

I never paid much attention to the different denominations. I just look at Christians as a whole. I couldnt tell you most of the difference in beliefs/actions/praises of the different denominations

They think it's Pentecostals backing their less preferred political party. Probably because they don't know any actual Pentecostals themselves. They still think of Bing Crosby's Priest roles in the movies of 80 years ago as representing Catholicism. Frankly if they did I'd consider joining up and leaving the charismatic side.

Perhaps because the Catholic Church was foundational to Western culture and the Pentacostal churches…were not. It’s not good to hate on any church, of course, whatever one thinks about their shortcomings. Believe me, the Catholic Church is not out to get Pentecostals, but there are powerful institutions that hate both the Catholics and pentecostals and seek to subvert all of their churches.

Pentecostals engage is some extreme behavior which most people consider excessive, "over the top," attention seeking, etc., like speaking in tongues. That tends to detract from their legitimacy.

I don’t really see Catholics getting praised. Especially not on this site or the media I consume more generally.

But as for Pentecostals, you kinda do take that speaking in tongues stuff too far. Js

      @Staximus

I think the Roman Catholic Church, Pentecostals, and Charismatics are all cults or as close to a cult as one could get.

With the former they have managed to add many unbiblical teachings from Mary being Coredemptrix with Christ to birth control being a sin. That is not to mention their piss poor handling of the sex abuse scandals and now blessing same sex unmarried couples, which is an abomination.

With the later we find hyper spiritualized things. Demons around every corner. It almost like these people are engaged in some form of Christian witchcraft, for lack of better terms. From speaking in tongues to slaying people in the spirit, to thinking everyone is pretty much demon possessed or oppressed, these things are as close to modern day blasphemy of the Holy Spirit so far as I can see. These things are disrespectful to the Holy Spirit and are strange fire offered before the alter of God. People in those churches tend to be looking for emotional experiences and supernatural power and quickly become bored with simply walking in obedience to God, hearing condemnation of sinful behavior, and living a holy life before God. These are people that tend to want an experience, rather than engage in self mortification of their flesh. I’m sure some probably claim to be prophets too, and are likely false ones at that.

Both churches in my opinion are blasphemous.

@alwayreckles93 Just keep John 14:6 in mind “I am the way and the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me”. Follow Jesus. Its our only way to heaven.
