Are Catholics really THAT praised and respected?

A few weeks ago, another user asked why Catholics are so praised and respected, whereas members of her church are hated. I replied by asking "which Catholics are you talking about (I forgot to ask "and by whom?")?"

The only Catholics I see receiving praise are Joe Biden, who is about as Catholic as a barbecue pit on Good Friday, and Pope Francis. I have, however, seen plenty of vile and condescending remarks directed towards faithful and orthodox priests and bishops like Joseph Strickland and Raymond Burke, even from other Catholics.

All that said, in your opinion, are Catholics really that highly regarded?

I don't know about praised but anytime someone says “I’m Christian”, others immediately assume that means Catholic. They dont seem to remember that there are other Christian branches/denominations— protestant, baptist, evangelist, pentecostal, etc. I guess Catholic popes are pretty praised but they along with the priests tend to have bad reps as molestors

Only by other catholics and those who don't know the shit the catholic church has done in the past. There's a reason why a lot of people the moment they hear a catholic priest is here, they think of peepee touchers.

I don’t believe so. Many users here have disparaging things to say about us, and also there’s been all sorts of Anti-Catholic sentiment in the media. Specifically concerning when the Supreme Court overturned Roe, and all the nasty social media comments about Catholics and attacks on churches that followed.

I have very little respect for a lot of Catholics (especially roman catholic), but I do for Orthodoxy. Mainly because of guys like Johnathan Pageau. Still am not one myself but am a fan of those who seem to practice what they preach. Current Pope is a globalist shill.

There have. The Boy scouts and other youth organizations have also had extensive problems and cover ups
