I don’t believe in religion as such, however I am happy for people to believe what they wish, the main thing is they do not get in the way of everyone else’s life, that they respect sexes equally, they are not hypocritical, do not push or force their beliefs on others. Some religions that dictate what people can wear, how they wear it, what they eat, drink etc is personally wrong. Then there is butchering kids because their religion says so, it’s 2024 we should be so far past that shit by now.

do i don't. i tolerate them. there's no need for me to accept or respect anyone or anything. tolerance is the base line that everyone and everything gets given that it doesn't mess with my personal life. respect and acceptance is reserves for things i find good and that i support. tolerance is for things i dislike and disagree with but that i have to tolerate because if i don't, that would logically mean i would have to be ok with someone else not tolerating my choices in life and that would be shitty.

It's really, really difficult to respect a point-of-view that wasn't thought through properly, and is simply accepted by a person because that's what their parents believed, or is what is expected of them by the society within which they live. If you haven't critically examined what you believe to be true, then those beliefs aren't worth anything, they're useless.

Yep, to an extent. When that religion or a person's beliefs based on that religion start to inflict on peoples basic human rights then I have no respect for it.

I respect the search but if it’s just social programming I don’t think it necessarily makes sense for them. For example I’m a Christian but there are plenty that grow up in a Christian culture who don’t really know the faith but still wear the label. As if somehow it makes up for the teachings. I just think it’s inaccurate to say that you are something but you don’t really follow or know what that something is.

No. I used to be "tolerant" of the religious ideas of others, but I have begun to see the harm done by non-Christians (this includes those claiming to be Christian but not doing what Jesus actually said to do).
