Philosophical satanism has little to do with the occult, aside from maybe alternative styling choices when getting dressed. If you actually looked into that, you would know that. Religious satanism is philosophical satanism. The worship of the devil is officially classified as Luciferianism.
Satanism is simply a philosophy that not everyone is worthy of your kindness and goodness until they prove they are worthy. It’s literally just a religion about boundaries. And yes, they are very fond of Baphomet, and the balance they represent as a male/female god. Baphomet is not a demon, and if you look into the Lemegeton, which is demonology 101, Baphomet is not listed. As far as we know, Baphomet was a pagan god of balance that was used to eradicate the Knights Templar when they were accused of worshipping it over Jesus in the 1300’s when the trials against them were documented. Since then, Baphomet’s legacy has grown to be the anti-christian symbol. The goat god is not the devil, it’s just a different god from a different period of time that the western media really loves to turn into a representation for evil, especially in christian media.

Someome missunderstood satanism... again. Satanists dont believe in the literal Satan and neither do they worship him. Christians believe in Satan. The so called church of satan is an Atheist group believing in human selfpreservation in contrast to christians who believe we are god given and judgement.
Satanism was and is used as a slur in medieval times and later to non conformists, freethinker and people who dislike the church. There was rarely an actual big group who literally worshiped satan. Not saying they dont exists but they are rare compared to any other form of atheist satanism.
So yes I would.

Because they dont belive in the literal existance of neither god nor satan but prefer the concept behind self determination, which is incorporated by satan, lucifer, the fallen angel compared to worship of a god who has done nothing for us and apperantly controlled until he left us alone. the concept behind the christian god is, 'worship me for what I have done without me needing any proof, even though there is proof my word has been missused and falsly interpreted in the past'.

I believe any serious reference to christianity, even in direct opposition to it or mockery of it, is giving it far more attention and credit than it deserves.

So while I might have an uncanny number of things in common with the philosophical Satanists... the very act of using that name just seems pointless and petty to me.
