I deliberately didn’t post under “religion and spirituality” exactly because this is NOT a question about religious people respecting and admiring atheists. Dude in the shirt looks retarded and also has a special case of cock suckers cramp. He trusts in science, but that very science in which he trusts was created by a bunch of religious men who were often quiet devote. Their understanding of the world was seen through a lens of religion. For example some believed science reveals the immortal human soul and that there is complete unity between science and God. Many scientists attended religious schools and often were clergymen. So does he just dismiss the bulk of the natural sciences being that much of it came from the church? Clearly science is what religious institutions were teaching.

Not sure if I’m qualified to answer this question as I’m christian but I would like to state my perspective. I know many religious people who are very respectful. I like to think I’m one of them as I have friends who are christian, jewish, muslim, pagan, hindu and athiests and we all respect each other.
