Have you ever had a Christian zealot friend?

I am involved in a guy's Bible study group. When I joined, I didn't really have any friends, was single, and struggling with extreme loneliness. These guys took me in with open arms and gave me a sense of community.

Yes, I am a Christian. Maybe not a very good one, but I am trying to pursue my faith. I grew up in a Christian family.

Anyway, overtime, some of these guys I call my friends are increasingly becoming more and more annoying. They are uptight, eccentric, and just odd overall. They definitely are not hesitant to hold me "accountable".

I mean, yeah, I don't agree with all the crazy bullshit that is happening in this world. I am a strong conservative. I believe our nation has lost its moral compass and faith, but I at least try to remain cool.

I don't go to church but I'm a Bible believing Christian that may sound weird but I honest feeling is the modern day Church system is not God's intention the early church and their home and the whole tithing thing is a scam that's a lie that was not meant for us that was for the Old testament farmers and went tithing was a thing they tied a 10th of their crop harvest so tithing was never money but now all of a sudden this modern day world it is money now? I think not God does not change his word does not change plus many people that do give 10% of their income that think they're tithing they say they still struggle financially they're not seeing the promise that was made and Malachi 3:10 where God says he'll pour out a blessing so much there will not be room enough to contain it well you don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to deduce that that promise was not meant for us because God is not a liar and will not break a promise there's my two cents maybe well I'm going to say $2 worth LOL but nothing wrong being zealous for the Lord he wants us to be hot or cold not lukewarm it says he'll spit you out of his mouth if you're lukewarm. And yes the United States has lost its way but then again America is not found in the Bible anywhere so for the NWO to arise America must Fall and we're seeing it happen before our eyes prophecy is real Jesus is returning soon so come Lord Jesus

I've got religious nut relatives and had one such friend, but (ironically) I lost him to a Fentanyl overdose Dec.28,2022, three days after wishing him a Merry Christmas at his brother, my BFF Jamie's place. (My current roommate LOVES these programs about the Rapture and other End Time programs. Dude's driving me EVEN NUTTIER !!!)

I left the church because of people like that, and eventually christianity entirely. Say what you want about the religion but the institution reflects none of the messages of christ anymore in their actions. Just hypocrisy

No. I was once approached (you could say „cornered“) by such a guy, asking Christian questions while offering to visit his group. The vibes were really cultish so I declined.

Nah. I don’t really hang out with religious people. I respect them and their religion but I usually steer away from the overly religious ones bcs our lifestyles are just not aligned with each other

We haven't spoken in decades. His personal life was a shambles of chaos. It was sad to witness what he lost for his faith.
