What if after you die there's NOTHING , you die and it's over

I've not seen so much as a hint of a clue that an afterlife is even possible. Eternally sustaining life in some Astral body would be a feat only possible through magic that circumvents the physical laws of the universe. But there is no evidence that magic exists.

However, there is a ton of evidence that people fear the finality of death and so would want to lean in to anyone who tells them they live eternally after death. That doesn't make it true - it just makes them feel better. Unfortunately it also gives them a proxy insecurity to guard against, in people telling them its not true. This wouldn't be a problem except they have attached a lot of arbitrary moral combinations to their beliefs and so try to tell others how to live their lives. After delicately trying to shove them off for so long and the zealots responding with only more aggression and power grabs, eventually a direct confrontation along the lines of "your beliefs only give you moral authority if you can prove they are of magical origin, and you can't because your god is made up" enters in to it. This is a direct assault on that proxy insecurity which causes them to react with a thirst for violence on par with what they would want if their actual life was in danger. Religion is effectively a brain cancer in this way and my tolerance for it has long been exhausted.

Yes, I believe there is. I've come pretty close to kicking the bucket a few times and was so close once that I had an out-of-body experience where I (my spirit) was looking down at my body and trying to "get back." After that, nothing can make me believe that there isn't an afterlife.

That's my assumption.  I don't care. I think it's stupid to think about a future life that isn't guaranteed over living a good life in the present for the sake of the present.

Then you die and it's over just like you describe. There is no "what if" in the situation.

It's most likely how it is, no afterlife, that's why most people instinctively don't want to die.

Yes, as we know the material world cannot continue indefinitely, nor can it create and recreate itself.

There cannot be "nothing" either, as nothing begets nothing.

Dimwits claiming there is "nothing", are no different to flat earthers and antivaxxers. They are just slaves to doubt and too pigheaded to get their head out their own ass

If you live a life of faith and die and there's nothing after, you've not really lost anything If you live a life devoid of religion and there is an afterlife, you could be in trouble.
