Do you believe you have a guardian angel?

Hi Guys and Gals!

I've always joked that I have at least two guardian angels -- because they need to switch off and take coffee breaks while I'm on the move. But jokes aside, I've always been raised to believe that we're protected and watched over... that even if bad things are happening, we're being protected from far worse.

Sometimes my G. A. will be a sign reminding me of a particular value I'm meant to uphold, sometimes it's someone particular who's put in my path to protect me or make an answer to a problem clearer. Whatever the form of the protection, my G. A. makes its presence and support clear to me and strengthens my faith in God, the world and my own abilities (in a good, humble way, not in any obnoxious sense).

What do you all think? Do you believe you have a guardian angel? If so, how does it manifest itself to you?

Yes i believe i have a guardian angel and it's not because i was raised to believe that i have one but it all goes back to my. life experiences, if you tell me a coeinsidence i'd laugh at you, like how many times a coeinsidence can occur, do you win the lottery 1st prize every week, hell no 😄

I guess my guardian angel or whatever hidden force that is looking after me is doing a real hard work to always save me and give me more than i ever wanted, everytime when i say i understand if my guardian angel had enough of me and doesn't want to help me anymore cause he did a lot for me, i find out that he's there and still wants to help me when i have ZERO hope, we all know that magic ain't real and what happens with me is more than magic, that's why i believe in this force whom we call the guardian angel!

Does everybody have a guardian angel, i don't know, i don't think so, i believe that in this world there are chosen people, for what? I don't know...

special opportunity in their life, so a guard angel watches so they will get to that opportunity.

I read somewhere thar when Satan gets his ass handed to him by Michael he sweeps a third of the stars with him. A third of the angels fall. That's the Bible. The thing I read was that there must be billions of angels. So perhaps some cover groups or a couple. But yeah, they are around fighting in the spirit realm.

I think my guardian angels were my parents, they got me through that risky part of my life when I was young and stupid. They gave me the tools to think and watchout for myself so I could take care of me once I fledged the nest.

I don't think it's an angel it's my grandpa. He was a very bad boy while WW2, I mean he fought for the wrong side in black uniform and surrendered at 4 Mai 1945 in Berlin to Soviets, what costed him 11 years Siberian gulag. Usually guys like him got instantly a bullet and he was sentenced to death as well. As he stood in front of the wall some polish officer who commanded execution squad asked him to empty his pockets. My grandfather had always a specific polish figure of Mary (mother of Jesus) in his pocket. After the officer saw this figure he ordered him to run away. It didn't bring much because he was arrested on the way to his home city Gdańsk and sentenced. I don't think he went to heaven.

He was a volunteer. I didn't know him, he died 15 years before I was born. My other great-grandfathers fought 'just' in Wehrmacht like 1,4 million other guys from region I'm living but they were forcefully conscripted. He did it because he wanted to. In my experience such people aren't good people at all, they are crazy psychos or cold blooded opportunists. He was the second one.

Maybe... but if you didn't know him... you didn't know what was in his heart. Some folks have to fight hard to defend and protect those they love. They're made to be tougher than most people.

In our faith, we are told every human has 2 angels assigned to guard him/her. One in front and one behind. You can say "guardian angels" per se. They are with you all the time. But whatever they do, they do it with God's will. So when God decrees a certain moment for you to have an accident, God commands them to move away. And hence you meet with little or big accidents in life. In the end, nothing good or bad happens without the will of God. The angels are simply following God's commands.

I once went on a date with a girl who said I had the biggest G. A. that she had ever seen (she claimed to see spiritual entities) and it was pretty wild. I know I've had SEVERAL close calls where I would be dead had things gone slightly differently so it might be real. I'm thankful to still be here.

Actually, it's funny you say that. I was telling someone in my family that her (now) hubby was a special guy bc the day I met him I could see a big light around him. I told her he was her guardian angel... and he's spent the last 9 years being exactly that for her. What a great guy. They broke the mold with him... But his spirit... it's so strong. His faith and positivity are so remarkable. Exactly what she needed after a life of constant struggle since childhood.

ya, all things considered over the years lord knows he has had so many opportunities to take me but here I am.
Including this past Monday.
I had a freak accident on a fire scene and suffered a broken leg.
A foot or so either way and it would have been a whole different outcome.
So, I am considering myself to be very lucky, or a big thank you to whomever was watching out for me.

Yeah, and mine deserves a raise. I was thinking about him on the way to get my oil changed the day I got hit by that car walking across the lot. I couldn't get out of his way because he turned into me like he was chasing me. But it seems like I landed on my feet 10 feet away. I have terrible balance due to a botched surgery on my legs. Maybe I got up fast I don't know. But I thought a thank you to God for having him on the way there.

Thanks, lady. It is kinda strange that I thought about that, and then I almost got killed. The Lord Jesus, but wouldn't He let Angels take care of that stuff. I almost got killed a lot of times that I know of.

I think God gives us what we need to get through life. Sometimes we need a hand, sometimes we’re good. GAs don’t have to walk with us 24/7 in my opinion, but know when our resolve is fading, when weakness sets in, we need an extra boost. I think GAs don’t always look like what we expect them to, bc Jesus didn’t come in a form that anyone expected Him to… and God appears as whatever he wants… so do His divine messengers and GAs.

I must… I mean, I’ve had multiple near death experiences while driving with a phobia of driving in the past. Was almost taken out by a semi on my permit with my dad, siblings and cousin in the car with us. Even my dad panicked and said I was going to get us killed. Then when we survived, he calmed down enough to tell me that it happens to everyone.

I was lucky enough to be raised in a decent neighborhood without having any real hardships in my life. But my true guardian angel is my logic and rationality in every scenario that presents itself to me.

@Dongie I'm telling you... a GA isn't always some floating entity with the wings and the sandals, you know? That's a really OLD vision described at a time when all the writers of the scriptures had around them were folks in robes and sandals, get it? That's how an angel would appear to THEM bc that is what they were familiar with... But the angels that came to speak to Abraham and so many other biblical heroes... those guys looked like plain old people.

If you've ever had a person contact you or come up out of the blue just when you needed it the most... that's a GA manifesting itself to save you. A doctor who saves a patient is touched with the energy and strength of the GA of the patient... a firefighter/ranger/etc etc etc who fight every day to rescue, save and protect others have been known to have a strength that goes beyond what they think they have... they're touched by the GAs of those they're protecting/saving. Even a parent can be touched by the strength of their child's GA (or vice versa) to accomplish remarkable acts of love.

Is it perfect? No, because sometimes it's the other person's time to leave this place, but in so many instances the power we feel that's compelling us to help another person... or compelling a person to come help us... isn't just generated out of thin air.

R @DishLady, I have a short one. I've been telling about what I figured out not more than a few months ago. And it happened in and around October of 1983.

I went to this technical school and lost my mind. I met a guy from South Texas in class. We were in Waco, Tx. These dudes pulled up beside us. They'd been drinking as Richard and I had. Well, we're going to fight. We pulled off the big ass highway and went under it. Probably 50-60 feet below the traffic. There was only this old dirt road, then a lot of gravel directly under. We parked and got out they got out. They were not from around there. 5, all with knives, were walking toward them, I'm mouthing off, I mention the mind gone, well out of nowhere a cop car came sliding into the deep gravel. I saw no lights come down the dirt road. It was like he came through another dimension. All of a sudden, the car is sliding through the heavy gravel, and the overhead lights are on. This kinda fat old cop came out with his gun pointed at the 5 hombre. He had to threaten to start shooting before they turned and went back to their car. Of course, I called them chicken s***, and he barked at us to get over there to him. There was nothing but trees all around and the dirt road that you could see up close to 200 feet. We were drunk, and he asked us if we had a death wish. I don't know the effect I had on that poor Richard because I got us into a bit of trouble several times. But the cop told us to go back to the school. We didn't tell him we were at a school, but they have a couple there. But he let us drive away drunk as a skunk. You think maybe...

Hmm. Ok… but to put a little perspective to it, a little old lady on a stoop out in the middle of nowhere on a snowy day was once my GA. I was really tired and walking, strolling behind my kids, who asked if they could play around in the snow a little. I said ok bc I needed a moment alone with my thoughts…. Long story short, she appeared and asked me if I could help her up, which I did. And she gave me a hug and told me everything would be ok, that God feels my sorrow and knows it well. She then patted me on the back and made her way down the short stairs of the stoop. I smiled — my first smile in weeks — and started walking to my kids but when I turned back she was gone. Completely vanished, not event the trace of her steps, which I had SEEN with my own eyes only moments before. It was only a quick moment, but that hug was something I needed right then and there. Those words too. The kids ran up to me and asked if I was ok. I said yes, I had just stopped to help the lady. (They had passed her to play in the snow…) My very precocious kid who notices everything took my hand, looked up and asked, “What lady?” I just walked them to our rental car and drove back home. When I feel shaken about something I remember that, pray and grow stronger.

There are many other moments, but this is a sweet, non-dramatic one.

I've never had a hallucination in the past or at any point after that, so there's no grounds to think this was one either. This is someone who physically hugged and spoke to me...

There's another dramatic instance in my life, but it's too heavy for G@G.

My friend with schizophrenia would feel herself being stabbed and it hurt just as much as being stabbed in real life. Hallucinations are going to be the more scientifically acceptable explanation because it's more probable but I'm not really out the supernatural entirely. I'm not all knowing.

I don't know that angels specifically have a gender, but it makes sense that they'd present themselves in a manner that you'd accept them.

To me they are souls like us (I don't have proof of this though, all I know she is my "Co-Pilot High Up". The communication happened trough signs with basically impossible chances so I don't know what she looks like unless the representation in the reveal sign was accurate). Since we have the concept of being born in the wrong body I assume souls lean closer to one gender than another, but its also possible they would be fine being either. So its very hard to say if she's actually gendered. But the name was female, and the photo accompanying the name was female with a distinct hair color.

I prayed to learn the name of my guardian angel, and that night the name popped into my head without any prompting on my part. Its isn't proof, but its enough for me.

I respect it. I'm going to do that. I think I was being prompted that day I was ran over. I found myself figuring out results of near death incidents and the idea of GA came into my mind. Thought on it all the way to the Auto Express to get my oil changed. I thanked Jesus for those times I was saved. I witnessed Devine intervention to inanimate objects, a gun. A few minutes later this guy came around the building about 20 mph. I jumped back and he turned right into me.

@Dongie and @Grond21, I never thought of asking for their names... I just say thank you when there's "a near miss" sort of situation or when I have a moment where I think I did something really remarkably well -- like beyond what I normally thought I knew -- I feel grateful to them for pointing me in the right direction. Now I'll have to think on it and see what name comes up.

I do remember that my last words to my mom were words of gratitude and affirmation, thanking her for being a guardian angel to me and my kids. She was a tough old cookie reminiscent of the Unsinkable Molly Brown.

She sounds sweet. My mom, I have to say, was the strongest person I've ever known, by far.
I had never thought about those times when I conversed with Jesus that the actions that occurred right after were not directly the Lord putting His hands on but an angel doing His bidding under the power of God. Then 5 minutes later that car knocked me through the air. I still got hurt but it could have went over the top of me. Then I'd be dead possibly. I went over with the thought I'm going to die in this parking lot today. I hit the hood as though I were going to roll over it and it hit me like a big hammer. It jammed my right shoulder into my neck and next thing, I'm standing about 8 feet from the car. He hit the breaks I guess as he hit me.
