Do you think Catholics and Lutherans are more similar or different?

During the sixteenth century, Catholics and Lutherans killed each other due to religious differences. But they kind of seem similar since both are Christians who worship Christ. What do you think?

Hey Mr. anonymous! I am a nominal Lutheran and am steeped in the high church rituals of Lutheran worship and liturgy. I know that there are core differences between the Catholics and Lutherans at the microscopic doctrinal level, but really I feel perfectly comfortable worshiping at either, just because of the pomp and circumstance of liturgical worship. Of course, there is only one St. Peter's Basilica, and there is something to be said for that! :)

I'm Catholic and I'm not too familiar with Lutherans to be honest, but other Protestants are just awful! But I do hear Lutherans often get praised for their work ethic and they also don't commit as many crimes

Lutherans are not only closer to Catholicism than any other denomination of Protestantism, they're closer to it than any other Orthodox denomination.
