Well obviously they don’t believe in God…. But I think they feel we believers are delusional. Anyone who asks for proof God exists doesn’t understand faith.

No. I'm not sure if I'm an atheist honestly. I get frustrated at religion. It makes many fearful, angry, oddly enough hateful sometimes, and looking for fulfilled prophecy not realizing that if you look for end times hard enough, someone will just nuclear war us into it. They are looking for someone else to save us even though the word says God helps those who help themselves.

Also, many religious people don't understand what's in their book but they all know they are right and wars over it are ok.

I don't meet a lot of true atheists, by that I mean people rationally convinced that any god does not exist. But I met a lot of people convinced that organized religion is either an elaborate scam or a social control method, or both. Now, I'm not atheist, but I'm not theist either, I see a plausible reasoning behind the saying that god is an imaginary friend. Anthropologically and historically, it does make sense to me, whether or not it is true.

@Juxtapose hahahaha superb, thanks, it's rationally very elaborate, and I didn't know such algorithm would originate from ancient greece since it predates monotheism. One point though, that is rationally based only, while faith, as a believer here suggested, is not of rational essence, it is spiritual based ;)

@Juxtapose I will push further then, for the mind play, I think that faith is inextricably rooted into human species, I think you and me, everyone have faith in something that is unprovable, I can even say that we would fall apart if we didn't believe in something that does not exist.

Take good and evil, morals, ethics, I have no proof they exist, it looks to me as an invention we, humans, created. Still, I believe in the good and the evil I can do, I have faith in this moral compass. What do you think?

People have faith because reality sucks and they don't want to believe that when they die that is it.

Morals come from natural selection. You can't have a viable group species without empathy because that is the glue that holds us together. Our species would be wiped out without empathy, so natural selection ensures we have it by eliminating species that can't cooperate as a group.

There's no faith required, it's evolutionary psychology and natural selection in action.

Of course the world is cold to live in! It is filled with horrific brutality, suffering and then at the end of it all we cease to exist as far as we know. You have to value what little time you have and fight hard for it while also being lucky enough to not be severely traumatized as a child or physically crippled.

I am very lucky and live in great comfort compared to the rest of the world. I take solace in my relationships with my loved ones, and enjoy what time I have learning, having fun and trying to do right by others.

I focus on rationality because make believe stuff won't save me. It will only lead to more suffering.

Depends, as technically there are no such things as atheists. They are either just deniers, liars or followers of the cult of scientism, Buddhists, or other minor faiths.

Hence it's as dubious an accreditation, as a thief claiming he is "good" because he gives to charity.
