By that definition, yes although the word isn't in the bible. OH and NOT a secret rapture either. All eyes will see him. The dead will rise from the grave and then the living and will meet Jesus in the clouds. It will be the biggest event ever. It will be a good kind of violence, as if you are in a prison 50 miles underground about to die and are utterly freed and are brought up to the surface in a instance with billions of angels all around. I don't honestly know how you people can ask this question. It's all in the bible you know. Things will be bad and then Jesus will come.

It Will be No Rapture, it Will be No coming of No One! I remeber i heard a "little" topic" about coming of Jesus/God etc... and It Made Sense! No one is Coming! The God/Jesus/Devil are All aready here and they play a Vital part in everyday's life... as the topic was saying... If The devil, jesus & god Would Have Taken Shape/Form... all Humanity Would freeze/freak out! We wouldn't know what would be real or not! If any of them would "come out" we will think they would be Cyborgs/CGI's/A. I's... with so much tech in the world we wouldn't know how to differenciate between A. I. & Reality! So what's left? To slay each other as much as we can... for the Rest of Our Days!

My grandmother is convinced the rapture will happen while she’s still alive. She also believed that my mom, brother, and myself would not join her in the rapture because we didn’t go to church. I would think that’s a much lesser crime than her racism and general homophobia, but whatever. If the rapture comes, it comes. If it doesn’t, then I’ll die anyway and visit grandma when she’s doing her therapy rounds in hell.

Neither- the "rapture" is a result of Protestant misunderstanding of a passage in one of Paul's epistles- a well-intentioned misunderstanding, hopefully, but a misunderstanding nonetheless. In much the same way as people think that the events described in Revelation are about the future, rather than the past (hint: there's a reason it's not called the Prophecy of John), they think the "tribulations" will come AFTER Jesus's return.

I'm not sure why, since that wouldn't really serve any purpose that Purgatory wouldn't; if you don't believe in Purgatory, fair enough, but then why would you suddenly believe in it at the end of the world?
