The Holy Spirit says in the Holy Scriptures that "without faith it is impossible to be pleasing to him; for whoever draws near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him" (Heb 11:6).
Faith in God is no small thing, but it orients one's entire life.
Those who do not know God, how do they orient their lives?
The Catechism of the Catholic Church rightly states that "atheism is a sin against the virtue of religion because it rejects or refuses the existence of God" (CCC 2125).

Consciences, i. e. hearts, are known only to God.
That is why the CCC states that 'the imputability of this guilt can be greatly attenuated by intentions and circumstances' (CCC 2125).
Then it becomes understandable what you have read in Youcatche who in the text you quoted to me assesses the phenomenon from a subjective point of view: 'atheism does not constitute a sin if a man has no notion of God, or if he has examined in conscience the question of God's existence and still fails to believe'.
Note well the expressions: 'if a man has no notion of God'. The expression is deliberately very vague because 'man' also means an unbaptised child.

Yes likely because they usually think they are "know it alls" and have "blinder faith in nonsense they heard" than catholics have.

But not guaranteed because they might realize they were wrong.

To clarify this. Ever heard of court "contempt" ?

If cops drag me to court and i interrupt to repeatedly yell "you are not a judge, you can't judge me" i get punished for contempt. That is what atheists are saying about god. Contempt.

I believe that despite our sins, rebellions, we'll be let into heaven if we accept christ as our savior. Nobody is perfect. But if that is the case, there would be no Heaven for atheists. But I hope that isn't the case, wecan only guess. If we try to be good people, I hope that is more than enough reason for Jesus to have a spot for you once you pass.

Only Jesus judges, it's not our place to judge in that way. We can say people who willingly don't want to look at the truth might not make into heaven, but we don't know.

Jesus is God, he isn't like us, he can look into hearts and see how a person really is.

I make zero assumptions of how the Father might apply the blood of the Son in the twinkling of an eye between death and life. For us it is a millisecond. For the Creator it might as well be a century.
