Will atheists go to heaven?

The Pope says that atheists can go to heaven too. Is this true?

Not as an atheist because the rejection of God is what leads people to hell cause hell is the only place that lacks God's presence when you choose to reject him he grants you that wish and your soul goes to hell, he loves everyone, he wants these atheists to be saved but if he is rejected by them then he isn't going to force anything on them but a life without God leaves you with the evil cause the good comes from God, once you accept God into your life your life will change but don't get me wrong, Satan will be on your ass once you accept God but you ask for protection and he will give it to you, I've been spiritually attacked, still am currently but it's gotten better and Satan hasn't got me and never will.

If they believe in Christ as their savior, or they are one of the thousands of lucky Jews.

Otherwise, they burnup in hell for eternity, which probably in their thinking resolves to a "black hole" or supernova. Their light... doesn't go on to the next universe, where there is a nice "room" waiting for them.

But... ya never know...

The whole point of all of this is to transform the corrupt selfish human heart into one drawing from a better "root" emotion. Logical athiests, probably not going to be able to do that, at least not back then when they were throwing babies to the dogs. Come to think of it, humanity is still doing that... ugh.

It's all in your belief system. If you follow the bible, look at all the times God or Jesus has taken time to focus more or give more compassion to people who were not of the church. I'm sure there's a passage somewhere that says God will accept someone who has a good heart over someone who has worshipped him their whole life with a bad heart.

As per Catholic doctrine, yes- when you die, you're taken into the presence of God and asked if, in the face of direct evidence, you're still willing to reject Him. If you don't, then you get in.

Is that ACTUALLY true? I don't know. How would I?
