There are biblical stories that line up with other historical records. I think of it as a very long and convoluted guidebook on how to live life in a safe way, deal with weird situations, like if some slut named Delilah wants to cut your hair, and more or less live a decent life in a basic agricultural society, die in your 40s, and have your kids be able to do the same.

If you do it real well, you can bag more than one wife. The new testament is the expansion pack for fishing and carpentry. Think zomboid, you can't win, there is no happy ending, but you can set things up nicely for the next character.

It probably isn't as popular because most of it isn't nearly as applicable for a couple generations. Starvation in first world countries is something you can easily escape, you have to be very unlucky or seek death to die in your 40s, and less people are having kids so those lessons are out the window.

I go fishing but I don't enjoy carpentry, so the addon doesn't do much for me :/

Life itself is meaningless without an afterlife, the progress humanity and the entirety of the universe will perish in an eventual heat death without a divinity that is outside of time and space. This is a myopic view of God and eternity. We are multidimensional beings created in the Image of God, OR we are accidental, biological, meat bag, cosmic jokes - wormfood.

No, it's what's called a "false dichotomy fallacy" and usually the first tool used to deflect from the person, when they have no real argument.

The bible is not proof of anything, but there being a bible. What is inside is a different matter. The Harry Potter crap (a Tolkien guy myself) is a work of fiction, and it's author is not a "prophet" or claiming to be. So she has first dibbs on what the work means and what it can be attached to.
