This doesn't even take into account the Balfour Declaration or the initial UN partition resolutions or "right of return" or illegal settlements or the Intifada.

Don't simplify it to the point that it is meaningless.

That’s a real distortion of history and a bad analogy. Funny how you don’t mention, for example, the Arabs who left voluntarily during the 1948 war, thinking the Jews would be exterminated by the invading armies of multiple Arab countries, or the ones who left because their fellow Arabs ordered them to.

I’d be very careful about reading the Pappe book without reading dissenting opinions. He favors one state in what’s now Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza, which is insane.

It's not entirely obvious, but as far as I can tell, a Zionist just means a person who believes that Israel has a right to exist as a state. So if you look at a map and go "Yup--Israel is a country alright" I think that makes you a Zionist.

I could be wrong. I've never heard a proper definition. That's the best I can determine from what I've heard.
