Why are europeans less christian and religious than americans?

It starts after the English civil war ends. A wave of religious tolerance sweeps across a Europe sick of centuries of prosecution. The problem was this liberal tolerant attitude upset religious zealots who were upset they could no longer burn witches or ban people singing, playing sports, Christmas etc.

Then someone spotted a big country full of indians that needed exterminated in the name of jesus. There they'd be free to live in misery, discriminate, and turn back the calender two centuries.

I believe places with high diversity are more likely to retain religious beliefs and Europe is culturally less diverse than North America.

There were a load of religious wars throughout Europe, this resulted in European countries shipping of their religious fuckwits to this new country to help colonise it. For example England had tons of Puritans and similar, the type that banned Christmas, well there was a mass whip round and England collected enough cash to give them a free trip to this new land. The result, England got Christmas back and this new land got a pile of religious fuckwits.

Perhaps you are not aware but france bans abortion far earlier than u. s. and even earlier in pregnancy than u. k. that also banned, this indicated the people see abortion is sin.

The original colonies were founded in large part as sanctuaries for marginal and persecuted religious groups. Even the less than orthodox Founding Fathers of the USA supported the ideals of faith as being best for a civil society. Freedom of religion is one of the tenets of the nation. And the United States does not have a lot of neighbors with different ideas.

Americans barely qualify as White or "Christians" as they are mostly mixed race and Protestants, not Catholics, after all.

Just because people show their faith & express it also practice their faith differently doesn’t mean they are less religious.

We had it for a few centuries and realised it doesn't fit a modern world and moved on. America may not be that far in history its a much younger culture.

That being said I am not even sure your statement is even true for all countries. If you go for the right countries its still a very arch-catholic population.
U. S. Is still one country not comparable with all of Europe.

I agree islam doesn't fit the modern world but christianity fits the modern world I guess because christianity is the most humane religion. İn islam the punishment for adultery is stoning to death and there is no such thing in christianity.

Ever read the bible? It's not exactly that "humane". Christianity had a few thousand years to evolve and they did exactly once, which is already too old again nowadays. Calling it the most humane is like saying bungee jumping without a rope is saver than parachuting without a parachute. It doesn't matter if the end result is the same.

I mean one of the ways to test for adultery in christianity is to abort the baby. A baby not from adultery is immune to abortion. Oh wait I wasn't supposed to say the bible actually supports abortion right? That probably angers a lot of them🤣🤣

America was founded as a religious country. Freedom from religious tyranny was the purpose of most of the people who braved the seas. It was almost two centuries before we allowed a Catholic president, and look how that turned out.
