That depends upon one's eschatology. Preterists and Postmillenials tend to see it as the destruction of the Temple in 70 A. D., ascribing an early date to Revelation. Amillenials see it as the current age. Dispensationists generally see it a part of the Great Tribulation after The Rapture.

I have an unsure eschatology and focus upon loving my neighbor as myself.

That temple part is the one that's the puzzle. Jesus makes it sound like it has to be rebuilt a third time and then the Abomination of Desolation will take place.

Um, you do understand that the events of that book were in the past, right? That's why it's not called "The Prophecy of John". The battle of Armageddon was in 518 BC.

I have read it. Many times. But it seems like you're implying that Revelation is about the things of the past, and you believe Armageddon was in 518 BC. Why would John have visions of the past? That would be false prophecy. It would be useless - and deceptive - for God to provide us with a book about events that already happened yet would seem to imply they are still to come.
