Do you think we're living in the end times? 2 Timothy 3?

I was struck by this Bible passage today and it got me thinking of the world we live in today with the internet.

1You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. 2For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful.

It's possible. Part of me even thinks more than likely.

However, there's a lot more to it than just what you've posted here, which I have neither the time nor the space to get into. The short version is that the False Prophet (or the Anti-Christ) has not yet made himself known and deceived untold numbers of people, for one thing; I've heard speculations that he is alive and walking the earth now, but I don't know. Only time will tell.

For another, the pope is Leo XIV and not Peter II (or Peter the Roman).

But most importantly, we simply don't know the day or the hour. We are simply told to watch and pray.

The end of times has been at hand for thousands of years. Zephaniah 1:14
“The great day of the LORD is near, near and hastening fast.” It says the whole world will be consumed. It has been longer since Zephaniah's time to our own than from Abraham's to the Birth of Jesus. Eventually, it isn't just the foolish virgins even the wise ones' oil runs out

We tend to be Amero-Centric in this area. That stuff has been going on since St. Paul's time. The call is to always be prepared. Irrespective of one's eschatology or which view is correct, there is no guaranty that any of us will see tomorrow, so always be ready.

No, it's all fiction. People have been asking this question for almost 2000 years, proclaiming that the end times have arrived. People sold all their posessions to stand outside and wait. It didn't happen and it won't now.
