If god created everything, who created god?

Question

Whether you believe in Creation, the Big Bang, or some other theory about how and why the universe exists, one question always seems to come up.

It deals with the beginning, how it all started. Or maybe it didn't start at all.

The most common scientific theory is that there was a singularity that expanded in an event called the Big Bang.

The most common religious theory is that a god (or gods) created everything.

Regardless of which you may believe, the question always is "What happened before that first thing?"

Today's question deals with the religious theory.

If god created everything, where did god come from? What, or who created god?

I've been asking that for decades and no one can give me an answer.
In the early`60's, there was an episode of The Outer Limits called, "Wolf 359" where a scientist "created" a miniature planet in his lab that was actually a small piece of a real planet brought back to Earth. He kept a video watch on the planet and a false Sun shining on it that was blinking on and off so fast that it just looked, to us, like the light was on constantly. But, on the simulated planet, each blink was an entire day! I think the hopes of the experiment were to find out what's going to happen in OUR future because the timeline on Wolf 359 was repeating our entire history but at a MUCH faster rate than ours! So, he was just about to find out what our future might be like when something in the experiment got screwed up or destroyed so, he never DID find out!
That said, we just might be a Wolf 359 simulation and our days are as fast as those on that false planet but, to us, the days and time are running at normal speed and someone else is watching us. In as such, it's possible the "Big Bang" or this so called, "god" never existed and we we're just some kid's science experiment and some of us are just dumb enough to believe the god story over the actual story or even the Big Bang story. Or could our entire universe be nothing more than the microscopic droplet from the nose of someone that sneezed 13,000,000,000 years ago (in our time) and we're just hurtling through the space where the sneezer lives and, to him/her, the few seconds it takes for that droplet of snot to go from their nose to the ground is 13,000,000,000 years, to us?

It's the most common question because people can't deal with the idea that God created everything including the concept of time.

The physical universe is finite. It had a beginning, and it will have an end. But that means God cannot be subject to the limitations of creation or He couldn't have made it.

Genesis actually covers this. First time: In the beginning, God created

Then the physical: the Heavens and the Earth

Science - especially the Big Bang Theory - can't explain creation. God is described as being from Everlasting to Everlasting. He exists outside the boundaries of time. And actually, for science's explanation to be accurate it requires the presence of God. Otherwise every physical/natural "Law" is actually a phenomenon because the start of the Big Bang actually requires those Laws to be in operation before the Big Bang.

That fucks up the concept of Time.

An object will remain in its natural state until exposed to an outside force. There's several laws that say this in one way or another. So if the universe was smaller than an atom it raises two questions: first, where did this thing come from? second, what exerted force onto it from outside that started the bang?

So you are left - even with science - with the need for an external source we call "god" to make and set in motion the universe.

God if he exists must be an extremely complex organism. Complex organisms evolve from less complex ones. Hence God must have evolved from bacteria much as life on earth today has. Following that logic there must be a planet of God's somewhere asking if there's an ubergod.

Interestingly virtually all creation stories are based on a single expansion from one point, be it a clam opening, a fish farting, a flower opening or the big bang.

We know now that it is relative. But we are just scratching the surface of this concept.

im not religious, i dont mean to disrespect religion, however if anyone had some sort of explanation id start with this, if god was always there, that would mean the time he was around before the universe was an infinite amount of time, that statement in itself would mean that the universe shouldn't exist because time infinite hasn't passed, that theory is proved because there is still a future, a past, and a constance of time, you can't extend infinity, in other words there cannot be time after an infinite time because that would make that “infinite” time finite snd therefore go against the “god was always there”. Also if god existed before existence than that means that existence beat him to being the first thing to exist, this is because you cannot exist without existance or a place to exist, which then defeats the whole “god was always there” because he wasn't. even if we put aside that “paradox” be did exist before existance, god would have been the only thing to consciously be nothing for an infinite amount of time which is torture, to say he was all powerful (or not) enough to overcome that, was it immature or mature of god to create the universe after all that time? was it a want or a need? was it a choice or necessary for our existence to occur from god?

To believe in a Creator God, (not a created, fantasy god) you must know there is at least the possibility for an intelligent being that is multidimensional, outside of time and space, an eternal being. An Alpha and Omega. Literally the beginning and the end.

Then you have to know that pride was the downfall of Lucifer and his fallen angels. They wanted to be "like God" but they never could be, because even though the devil was the second most powerful being in the universe, he was still a created being. So his work is to convince people to join him in a rebellion of pride to also become like god. But they will all fall woefully short and perish.

... Or repent of this pride and rebellion and admit that the Creator really is God and overseer of every living being and atom in the universe. Anything else is a myopic and lesser view of an infinite being.

the question is wrong because it is oriented to time. There is no such thing it is in our minds translation of where we are. Everything always existed, and that is God. That is why we should focus on being like Christ, because we are in a time bubble within everything that is and ever was, and we should do our best.

In Canaanite religion an older god created the supreme god Baal. Zeus was the child of other god parents. Sort of gets around issue I spose.

The last week I spent trying to grasp the concept of vacuum energy, dark energy and dark matter. I don't feel quite up for was there something before the big bang at this point if you don't mind. :)

Here's the thing:

Atheists used to say that the Universe was eternal as in it always existed. That is not a likely option given all of the evidence we have for the Big Bang.

That option has not been out-ruled for God (At least the Judeo-Christian God) as well as Islam and certain deistic versions.

Something always has to come from something else in order for it to exist as far as we know but there has to be a first one in the very beginning. Logically all  effects  have a cause. God is not an effect and thus requires no cause. People might disagree, which is fine, but my admittedly limited mind cannot conceive of an infinite regression or a self-caused effect, both of which defy my understanding of logic, thus I am left with an uncreated first cause.

There is no "god", only different types of energy and matter.

Collision of matter and anti-matter caused the Big bang", and released large amounts of energy and anti-energy.

I'm not saying that energy of the Universe/Nature can't be intelligent, maybe it's something like the Force (from Star Wars).
