Depends on what he means what I'm about to say is the correct response to your question, if this is what he meant then he is correct but God is always the answer, and it depends on what waiting he is referring to because there's waiting the way God wants you to wait and the there's waiting for no results, when you wait the way God wants you to is to follow the guidance he gives you and then wait for results, many believe that just asking God and then they just sit and do nothing that it will happen and fall out of the sky, God will guide you to those results so it's good to not ignore the guidance, part of his guidance is to find someone that has the same morals as you and even believes, same page type of thing, so yes and no to your question, if you are going to wait make sure you are within the guidance of God in that way then all you do is wait and it's all a matter of the time God set for it to happen, if you think you can just go and do what you want and wait for a time, it's possible for you living off just your choices can drive you in a different direction than where you have to be,.

I'm kinda with him. There's also an expression that says God helps those who help themselves. Who's to say he hasn't already put someone in your path and you missed it by being passive and expecting a partner to come to you? You have to fight for what you want and God will aid you in that fight.
