Are their benefits to waiting until marriage?

Definitely... I think for most people the benefit is that they are too immature emotionally to handle sexual relationships, so developing a marital relationship before having sex theoretically allows them to feel safer and more confident in exploring that more intimate side of who they are.

How many single moms and dads are left on the taxpayers dime to live out an existence? The idea of marriage, among other things, was to prevent such welfare living.
