Why do so many atheists get so angry whenever someone so much as mentions the fact they believe in God?

And then rather than try to make a convincing case for why no one should believe in God (or gods) anymore, they erupt like a volcano with childish insults, and make false accusations (ex. "You worship an invisible sky-daddy"). When, or if, they eventually do get around trying to make a case for why they believe theists are wrong, their arguments are just so horribly lame and pathetic that one can only laugh at their shocking ignorance.

I don't believe in God. There, I said it. However, I don't rule out the possibility, and to be quite honest I think that every other explanation for why there is what there is just doesn't seem to work (ex. the multiverse idea).

Fear and arrogance.

Humans are naturally afraid of anything we don't understand. I've said before that if we discovered alien life it'd unite humanity because we'll have found something new to hate and fear. Atheists like to think themselves more evolved. They like to think of mankind as the apex of what the universe has produced. But yet they cannot answer the basic question, "why are we here". Atheists cannot understand an omnipotent entity that both loves them endlessly, yet does not play by thier rules.🤣 Before I was saved by Jesus Christ I could identify with this. And now that I'm on the other side of this I feel like I can share this with ahnostics, but not to Atheists. Because Atheists for all thier claimed logic are intractable in thier stance. Before I was saved I used to think Christians were pretending. And after being saved I did not feel a great change in my life. But that wasn't God's failing that was mine. I'll tell anyone that wants to know that my journey with Christ took another 20 years. Because it took me that long to ACCEPT God's love.

Because they are insecure and slaves to doubt.

Think of them as school bully types. They have problems they cannot deal with, so take out that frustration on others that are better than them, instead of dealing with the issues they have.

It's why there is no good reason to be an atheist, they are just people with problems they are too coward/insecure to deal with.

I have another side. Why do the religious type try to convert any one who is a none believer. Just so you don't get on your high horse. I am a none believer. I have lost my way.

They don't. I can't even remember the last time a Jehovah's Witness knocked on my door, it must have been about 15 years ago by now.
