A Christians, what do you think about torture?

If you saw someone torturing another person, what would you think? What would you think if the person being tortured or actually guilty of whatever the torturer claims? Would that justify torture? What would you say if the person being tortured were a friend? What if the person being tortured or a family member or child? Would it be okay? Would the torturer be justified?
