I thought about your question a few days and... someone has GOT to say it. "You do not have a new Pope" because those appointers did not have "one wife" as their own holy book timothy directed with "apostolic foundation". therefore couldn't appoint and...

The cardinals were not ever appointed by a real pope... adding another reason THEY were not real cardinals... to appoint any pope.

Also the rule of 120 voters was violated, so this pope, same as previous popes, was never really appointed. Just another face In a picture frame, on the wall of catholic churches.

I'm disappointed in you. You're misusing Paul's words to Timothy to make a claim that they need to have at least one wife when he was very explicit that he was limiting it to one wife. But he also said, sell him to see for God is a greater path.

As to the other claims, they don't hold up to the test. It's simply the Protestant position, which has always been founded in the opposition to the Church.

You have made some great points on here before, and so I'm disappointed because you can argue much better than this.

Yes, he turned the other cheek when it came to child sex abuse in his church. There's so many horrible things that go on in the Catholic church. Why did he stay quiet?

I just read about it, and it matches what I have read in the past. There are some allegations that he didn't do enough in three different cases, two in the US and one in Peru. For the one in Peru, his successor said he documented it very well and thoroughly, as did the investigators. That's the opposite of shady.
For the 2 here, it's really hard to say that he didn't do something he should have and looked the other way, despite the accusations. The evidence to support them is not there.

As for the accusation that there is a ton of horrible things that go on in the Catholic Church, I would agree with you. Humans are awful, and you will find awful humans everywhere. Thankfully, though, the percentages in the Catholic Church for sexual abuse are lower than they are i similar organizations that deal with children, such as protestant pastors or grade school teachers. It's absolutely horrible and despicable wherever you find it. I'm just glad it's not predominantly in the Catholic Church like the media pretends it is.
