Do you go to church?

Nope.
I was raised Catholic, went to Catholic from 1st through 8th grade. I liked it. I was also an altar boy.
But once I got to public high school, I lost interest. Then, over the years, I studied the history of Christianity and Judaism, world religions, mythology, ancient history, archeology, cultural anthropology, geology, and some philosophy, not to mention modern history and current events. I also observed and investigated modern religious denominations. Doing so made me realize that all religion is mythology and the purpose is to gain wealth and control.

But I did get married in a Catholic church when I was 42 because it made my wife's parents and family happy. And the traditional formal ceremony was cool. My wife got to wear a formal bridal gown and be queen for a day.

Then, when I was 48, my wife and I moved to an area where we didn't know anyone. She discovered that a couple she used to know lived here and they suggested that we attend the Unitarian Universalist church where they were members. At first I was horrified by the idea of church. But they explained that it was nondenominational and that people of all faiths and religions, even pagans and atheists were members. So we gave it a try and wound up really liking it for about 15 years.
But more and more woke liberals began joining. Not old fashioned liberals like me, but woke, white, well off, latte liberal Democrat retirees from corporate jobs. The church became activist in things like BLM, LGBTQ, and support for Democratic candidates. They went completely insane in 2016, acquired TDS, and then went full Branch Covidian in 2020.
My wife and I left in 2020.

That's the last time I have been in any kind of church. I'll practice my own form of spirituality without any need of religion or club membership.
