Where is all this Christian harassment I keep hearing about?

When, where, and how do people see this happening? Because I don't. I go to bars, coffee shops, movies, concerts, grocery stores... basically everywhere and it does not happen. Every so often if I'm out somewhere, there might be a street preacher with a loudspeaker or a sign that says "repent and believe" or something like that, but it's exceedingly rare. I don't even remember the last time I saw that.

There have been only three times that anything remotely like this has ever happened to me personally.

• A nice girl came up to me at a coffee shop and politely asked me if I knew and reflected on the fact that I would die and face God one day. I replied "yes". She gave me a program for her church and that was the end of it.
• One of my Born-Again aunts texted me and my siblings on New Year's once to encourage us to read and study the Bible. "Cool. Thanks, auntie". End of story.
• After my wedding Mass, another Born-Again aunt put a passive-aggressive jab in her card to us that said "Come to know the real Jesus" or something or other. Nothing after that.

Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons have each come to my house. I usually tell them (truthfully) that I don't have time to talk to them at the moment. They might ask if they can come again later. Then they leave and again, that's it.

So where is all this harassment I keep hearing about? Is it just the area you live in or members of your family?

In my region, probably country-wide, there was a time, up until the 90s/2000s maybe, where JW was spamming, kicking at the doors of every neighbors in every building. Which turned this cult into a meme/joke, a meme that still trends around here. Though something must have happened, either from the legal side or the strat-comm JW side, because they ceased proceeding like that. Their new modus operandi is currently to wait in a populated area, next to some sign.

Some Mormons (contractors?) are wandering downtown, sometimes. Black suits, white shirts, black badge, they're hailing people but they aren't annoying as they proceed with a sort of Socratic (and oriented ofc) approach to pedestrians.

Orthodox seem nonexistent or super discreet, never seen or heard about one in person.

Protestants, I'm unsure, there aren't many I can see, evangelists are noisy since it's their mission to be, they mostly evolve in small groups using gospels and flash mobs (?). They don't seem to be harassing.

Catholics, the moderate form, (called spiritual in English, I think?) are many, and they are clearly discreet about their beliefs. I heard of a few, rare, and loud fundamentalists, literal about the bible, angry about a metal fest, things like that.

That's what I observe.

Too vague do you mean harassment to CChristian or harassment by Christian? Your stories don't have either type.

Christians get harasssed online, by users and admins of facebook groups, and more websites,, to stifle as much Christians opinions as possible, without erasing all, that would be too obvious, Just lots if censor and mocking.

harassment by Christian is the inaccurate term, for a Christian talking about religion, people don't wanna hear it so call it harassment. If someone knocks on their door like old days sales men, it is harrassment. if a Christian knocks on their door or made their phone ring "end the harassment by Christian" they say.

Pretty much exactly the same here. In town you might see someone trying to hand out leaflets but they don't aggressively push. People with loudspeakers are very rare. Most Christians promote their beliefs through good acts rather than harassment.

"Pretty much exactly the same here." Dumb question, sorry, but how do you mean? See, the most I usually do here is just my profile images, asking and answering religious-themed questions, and giving nudges and encouragement when it's appropriate.

There have been maybe one or two other members here who I think do fall under the "harassment" label, though one of them who is "never responsible" has since blocked me and I think may even be inactive now. This person would post all sorts of questions about how Catholics are all hopelessly Hell-bound and had an enormous victim complex. The other hasn't posted as much about the subject.

I'm referring to what I see in the real world rather than online. It's been years since I've seen anyone yelling about Hell and I can't ever recall seeing anyone pushing Christian values on the streets. I get the feeling Christian harassment in the states is more about politics than actually trying to save people's souls

I take it you've had to deal with them once or twice?

Three or four times, but that's been several years ago. You know the crowd, they hate and harass anyone who isn't them. They've been pretty low-key since they almost got a beat down in Oklahoma after the Moore tornado in 2013. Last I saw of them was at a few graduations.

I’ve never witnessed this in person.
All of the complaints about it appear online. I think it’s safe to say the complainants might need to put their devices down and go outside more often.
The victimhood complex has become almost contagious for its ability to net specific results online and off.

In real life, I just talk openly and honestly about my faith. Like in a conversation. I don't push it on anyone.

I the Midwest it is extremely rare. We are part of the Bible belt here.
